I dropped two pieces of clothing off at American Dry Cleaners that were admittedly in pretty rough shape. After examining them, the women at the counter said she would get back to me with a time frame and cost to clean the items. After not hearing from them for a couple of days, I assumed that everything was fine, they were cleaning the items and they would call me when they were ready to pick up. After 7 days, they finally called and said they hadn't done anything with the clothes yet and that their services wouldn't take care of the stains because they outsource to a different location; they don't actually do any of the cleaning in house. I'm not sure why it took them a full week to determine there was nothing they could. After asking if they could at least try cleaning the clothing the women on the phone admitted that she doesn't even get her clothes cleaned there, so it was her personal recommendation to just come get the clothes.
So, I went and picked up my clothes, which were in the same bag I dropped them off in only to find that they now had mold on them. Any chance of me getting them cleaned by another, legit, dry cleaners has now been eliminated. It's unreal to me that I picked clothes up from a dry cleaning business in WORSE condition than I dropped them off in! What's more, when I called the place to tell them that my clothes were now covered in mold and had to be disposed of, they tried to blame me for not picking them up right when they called me. It couldn't possibly have been their fault for waiting seven full days to even get around to calling me only to inform me they couldn't do anything.
Bottom line, I wouldn't trust this dry cleaners to clean a pair of socks and don't recommend them to anyone. read more
