Dont go here I spent over $20K for dentures here and 2 years later, they still feel horrible in mouth actually worse. They feel unnatural and I hate eating to the point where i have lost 20 pounds. The bottom dentures fall out almost every time i open my mouth. I have been back several times for an adjustment and it has not done any good. My advice is to find ANOTHER dentist to help you keep your teeth. I had no choice because I have cancer and the radiation ruined my bones. My mom got dentures for less than $1000 that she is very happy with. This place is nothing but a rip off. read more

Do not go to American dental solutions, especially if you are on Medicare. They will make up some diagnosis that will cause you to spend money unnecessarily. After my appointment with them, I went to another dentist and found out my teeth are perfectly fine. They are trying to rip off our government. Do not use them. read more

Beware! I only went to this dentist office because they take my insurance. Every time I go they tell me different treatment plans that cost $3000-$4000 out of pocket. I just go there to get my teeth cleaned not made to feel bad. Never going back again. read more

Went here as a patient for the last two years because of the insurance I had. Every visit I was coerced into buying something and would end up be charged much more for the visit then I was supposed to be. Was told I needed multiple fillings when I was having no issues or pain. Saw another dentist and got a second opinion, they said no cavities and no fillings needed. Feel like they don't look out for their patients they just want to make more money. I never complain about businesses but I will never go back or recommend this place. read more

My son had a horrible experience there! The dentist removed 2 teeth a week prior. She took a short cut and didn't take an X-ray after removing the teeth. A week later my son's mouth was infected because she didn't remove all of the tooth. He had to go to an oral surgeon the finish the job. read more

Don't be late at all or they will refuse an appointment time even if you drive an hour to get there and there is nobody even in the waiting room. Doctors were all standing at the front desk chatting and then spat off some rule that they never disclaimed before about being late. We missed the 10 minute cut off time by mere seconds. They were also open for 3 hours after our supposed appointment. It's funny that they can treat you however they want AFTER you pay them in full. DONT GO HERE! The Doctor was very friendly but my visit proved that our medical world is crazy. The United States should be ashamed of "herself." People come in off the streets in extreme pain, spend over a hundred dollars on X-rays, and leave still crying and in pain. It was a total waste of time. I have never felt so much pain. I guess because of my searing dental situation, no one took me seriously. I don't appreciate places that see human beings in pain and do nothing to get them healthy. No one should be called a doctor doing so. Too many strategies out there...too many resources...and yet, if you're uninsured, you are in a horrible place and forced to leave in life threatening pain. I went to this location for the first time after relocating and finding this office to be the closest to me. I scheduled an appointment for a general cleaning and was seen promptly. The office is a little small and not as spacious as the one in East Norriton. However the staff was friendly and my general check up went smoothly. I had to schedule a follow up appointment to have one of my fillings re-done. I was told it would take no more than 30 mins. I arrived 15 mins early to my scheduled appointment and was seen right away. I was given novocaine and had my filling done within 15 mins! I felt no pain or discomfort and it was an amazing experience. I've never had dental work done that quickly. I would recommend this location, the only cons is that their only there on Mondays and Thursdays. read more

When I called to make an appointment for my cleaning I sat on hold for close to 20 minutes with the call center in order to do so. When I got to the office, it was not the cleanest and was dark and dingy looking. The woman at the front desk asked me to check in once she realized I was standing in front of the window. I checked to see if they had received my x-rays. They said no and I asked for the email again so I could forward them. This was resent 4 times. I was told that they weren't receiving it, although I forwarded it to my work email and it came through right away (maybe you should check your spam folder too). I was told they couldn't diagnose or treat me with without x-rays and that they would need to take more (they did offer to do this at no charge hence the one star). I was led by a woman who told me I would be in the last "room" on the left. These are not rooms, but rather cattle stalls. I could hear and see everything going on (not quite sure how that is HIPPA compliant) since the only thing separating me from the patient next to me was a low counter. I spent the majority of my visit staring at her yellow and blue key lanyard that was hanging out of her off white Kate Spade bag. The woman who led me back then used actual films (I haven't had a film x-ray in close to 10 years) that were sharp and uncomfortable to take the x-rays. After that I sat...and sat until another woman came up and told me the doctor would be with me shortly (at this point I had been in this office for over an hour). The doctor came out and was friendly enough. She didn't look in my mouth at all. She asked me where I "thought" my issues were and then referred to my x-rays (that I never got to see) and said my filling was separating but she didn't think I needed a crown, just a new filling. I asked if it could be done then and she disappeared for a few minutes returning with yet another employee (I've engaged with 5 different employees at this point) who said she couldn't fit me in then but did pull up the schedule to see when she could. After booking this appointment she told me to have a nice day and attempted to remove the bib. I asked if I was going to get my cleaning first and she said no, everyone was booked (mind you I had scheduled an appointment for a cleaning) and that she would need to look at the schedule to make another appointment. I mentioned that I had made an appointment for a cleaning, and her response was, oh, sometimes the call center messes up. REALLY?! That's your response after I've wasted almost two hours of my life in your establishment?! Needless to say I won't be returning. I canceled my appointment today and will be paying out of pocket to see a dentist out of network just so I don't need to return to this disorganized, dingy, antiquated office. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! This was hands down the WORST dentistry experience I have ever had. read more

Terrible. Despite making payments while in the office and insurance, I always seem to owe them more and more. They don't seem to know how to handle insurance at all. I had three crowns done there, then the dentist at another of THEiR locations said none of them fit properly and had to be re-done. I had switched to the new office - I didn't trust the dentist at Phoenixville any longer- because the temporary on the last one fell out in a week. It looked like my 5 year old had made it. Then they billed me almost $300 for well visits for my kids. Why? They said it was a week too soon and my insurance wouldn't cover. I made the appt based on when THEY told me to make it. Their response to this? Tough, it wasn't their responsibility. Horrible customer service. read more

Worst dental experience of my life!! First appointment went fine (probably just because it was a consultation), but the 2nd and 3rd were awful. Dr. O'Neil was not very friendly, and openly talked about other staff to the nurse while I was almost completely upside down getting a crown. My appointment went on much longer than intended as my crown fell out while they were doing their work, and kept injecting me with novocaine so by the time I left, my whole face was numb. I am not one to complain AT ALL, but I had to mention several times that A. Staff were digging into my lip and gums with tools, B. O'Neil was DRILLING my gums instead of my tooth which I had to bring to her attention C. While completely upside down, O'Neil was blasting the water at full blast causing me to choke and gag. The reason for this was "the location of my tooth" which is complete bs. I have had work done on this tooth and haven't experienced any problems, I also thought that a dentist SHOULD know how to treat teeth without causing pain and discomfort. Blaming the location of my tooth is a copout. Even with a whole team of staff working on my tooth, I did not at one point feel like a person. While checking out, staff were gossiping with the receptionist (right in front of me and another client) about the Dr. (cannot recall her name) who messed up my crown which caused it to fall out. It's not comforting to hear, "Not the first time she has done that this week" and certainly doesn't make we want to return ever again. No one was truly personable and friendly. AD cancelled my final appointment due to my crown not being complete (after about 2/3 weeks since the 2nd appointment)... I was unable to get in for another two weeks. I wrote a review on facebook and AD reached out. When I returned their call they said the woman who handles this left for the day and wouldn't be back for a few days...Overall, extremely unprofessional environment. I work in human services and I am always disappointed when I come across establishments like this who treat people like "Medical school corpses". Some reviews on here are positive (good for them!), but I strongly advise those who have never been, or who are sensitive when it comes to their teeth, this is not the place for you! read more

Broke a tooth and called American Dental right away. I was given an appointment the very next day. Very little wait and very friendly staff. Within an hour, I had impressions made and a temporary cap placed on the tooth. A few weeks later got the permanent cap which did not fit correctly. But dentist is requesting a corrected cap for which they will call when ready. American Dental has the patient's well being at heart. Thanks, American Dental. read more

I did not have a positive experience at this location. Firstly, the office is very small and the chairs do not have their own private rooms. You are basically sitting in cattle shoots while the hygienists and dentists move from one spot to the next. You can hear everything going on with every patient in the building. Secondly, there are rotating dentists so you rarely get the same one. On one particular occasion, I had a female dentist who told me I had a cavity and needed a filling. I came back for the filling and had a different dentist and he told me I did not have a cavity and did not need a filling. The last time I was there, I had some concerns about some gum swelling and the same female dentist told me I had a fractured tooth and needed a root canal. I did not have any pain, so that seemed pretty extreme to me. I switched to a completely different dental practice to get a second opinion and they told me there was no fracture at all! The only reason I gave this place two stars is because I really liked the hygienist that I had for the last couple of visits. read more

I've been a patient of this office for several years and have always had positive experiences in the chair with the hygienist and dentist, but I cannot say the same about the front desk. On one occasion, I was not given a courtesy call reminding me of my appointment, so I was charged for not showing up because I called to find out when my appointment was and it was that day. I moved out of the area and wanted to make an appointment at the Wissahickon office, but the receptionist told me "They get mad when we do that" so I was forced to make an appointment at the Phoenixville office, which is out of my way. Second, their hours are wrong both on Yelp and on the website. I was just told not 20 minutes ago by the receptionist Paige that they are only open Monday - Thursday. The website says they are open Monday through Saturday. This creates a problem while attempting to reschedule. I would love to stay with the American Dental family because I've had great experiences at the Pottstown and Phoenixville offices, but I think I will look for another dentist that will hopefully offer more pleasant experiences. read more

I'll start by saying that the reception staff is very professional and friendly. That's where the quality ends. This place is a money-making venture and that's about it. One visit I have no cavities then the next they are telling me I have 13 cavities which can be remediated to the tune of $800+. Fortunately, I had the sense to seek out two other Dentist' opinions whom were in agreement that I had NO cavities! This is a rent-a-chair setup so if you like to have the same Dentist for more than one visit this is not the place for you. Also, the co-pay was much higher here for my insurance in comparison to other providers...not sure why? read more

I had a horrible experience there today. I was there for cleaning and I was told that I had to pay my copay for a panoramic x ray for a cleaning. A general x-ray would have been free. I had my old x-ray from my old dentist that they should have told me to bring when they took my appointment. To make matters worst, there is this smug receptionist, Karen that told me that I should have known to bring it with me. I called the insurance company and they are now looking up if it is medically necessary for a panoramic x-ray for a simple teeth cleaning. Really, how did all these dentist clean teeth without an x-ray back in the days? I really think it is not medically necessary.... We will see and keep everyone updated with this complain. read more
