I received multiple harassing calls from one of their agents "King" who even misrepresented himself as working for the Florida State Licensing Association. Even after hanging up, he called me back to keep arguing/mocking my voiced concerns. They had a third-party sham telemarketer call my mother. She has memory issues that my siblings and I are working towards getting diagnosed. They call from weird numbers and then cuss at us and say disrespectful and degrading things when we ask to cancel the policy. Then they hang up without resolving the issue. My mother has 7 policies. I would give zero stars if I could. Never have I encounter a company more obstructive and dishonest. They totally make up rules as they go along to avoid paying out claims. They tell you to fill out one form and when you do, they say "no, that was the wrong form." They accept your Power of Attorney one time then suddenly say the exact same document is not valid later. No explanation as to why all of a sudden the exact same document suddenly isn't good. When you try to call and talk to them, it takes over half an hour to get a person on the phone and then they hang up on you instead of solving the issue. You can try to e-mail customer service but they will take over a week to respond and then won't answer the question. You can try to talk to the person that e-mailed you and they will deny knowing who that person is. I have now been struggling for over four months to get a simple partial surrender done. Our elderly friend who's on a very limited budget was approached by this company and sold (NOT ONE, NOT TWO....) THREE life insurance policies costing him $200/month leaving him with NO MONEY to live on the entire month. They conveniently do an auto pay directly from his account when he gets his monthly check. His family has told him there's no need for any policy. My husband cancelled it by our friend's request and the company actually called our friend back THE NEXT DAY to try and sell him ANOTHER POLICY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? THIS IS CRIMINAL!! My Mother had life insurance with a reputable company for years when these con artists approached her and convinced her they could offer a better policy for less money. I sat in during the sales process. I questioned everything! I even exaggerated illnesses. He said no problem. He did a full medical review and had to get approval. I asked the man what happens if my Mother were to pass away next week, he quickly replied "Covered" "that's what makes us better than the other guy's, as long as you pass the medical review m, you're covered!" 18 months later my Mother passed away with double pneumonia. Keep in mind this is a simple burial policy, we're not talking about much money here. I called to report my Mother's passing and prepare to put her to rest. The company said " we're going to have to do a full medical investigation for the past 3 years from the date of your Mother signing with us! I asked how long this would take? I was informed that they could take as much time as they needed to do the medical investigation. She also informed me that at best I'm probably looking at a partial refund! We purchased this policy so I wouldn't go broke burying my Mother and that's exactly what's happening. The representative had zero sympathy! I beg you, do not give these crooks your business! My mom had other life insurance policies and Gary convinced her to cancel them because they cover her immediately my dad sat with her while talking to Gary and so told him she had cancer he still insisted on her getting the policy as long as she answered the medical questions to best of her knowledge which she did so they gave her a policy and she pass away a couple of months after that I reported her death then I was told they have to investigate for a 20,000 policy so I was denied the payout saying she lied on her application so now I'm getting a lawyer due to my mom been lied to and used the agent told my father he came to my mom house and clearly her policy stated that everything was electronically signed he argued with my father so definitely I'm getting a lawyer and suing they ass for bad faith I never recommend this company but they playing with the right one read more

Terrible company, we have them for years and when i recently attempted to contact an agent i had one woman speak with us and say she was going to get back with us after she checked some things and weeks went by no contact i've attempted to send emails and get the mailbox is full so they never receive my emails, I've called and left message never get a call back, I went to the main website got three different agent numbers to call and each one when i told them why i was calling they hung up on me, even got the main companies number I was put on on never ending hold two hours later i finally hung up, i cancelled our policies with this company due to their rude behavior, their customer services are horrible, and thank god we never had to put a claim thru, with people acting like that we would have never gotten ahold of anybody. their website is joke looks like a 19080s version of a teenagers idea of a social website. He's fighting to get over 1000 dollars back after they've been taking money out of his accounts, sometimes twice a month for months. These kids are young and dumb and have a poor understanding of how to get their finances in check. It has become a nightmare. We will see what happens. Completely dishonest company. We allowed someone to come to our home and sell us life insurance. I believe her name was Ayana. My wife and i agreed to pay $65 and $70 month for 100k of insurance. It was a return of premium policy so it was pretty expensive. AYANNA told us If we kept the policy for 2 years we could cancel and get some of our premium back. 28 months later, I call in inquire about the return of premium and I'm informed that I can only get money back after 4 years and at that time, i would receive $40 from each policy. I just found out my son signed up in Jacksonville NC. I noticed they were taking money out of his account so I questioned it. When I went to visit this past weekend they have a booth set up right outside of the barbershop the service members get their hair cut at. I went and questioned them and they looked shocked. I told them I didn't appreciate them soliciting my son, he's only 18 and they stated they sent a package of info to my home. Which was a lie. He also said he could cancel at any time. American Amicable Life Insurance Company of Texas is straight-up garbage! Heed my advice and stay away! When I was a young service member I signed-up for a mutual fund (MF), oh so I thought. However, instead of signing-up for just a MF I was foolishly tricked into signing up for a Whole-Life Insurance Policy. Which I contribute $100 every month (managing fee: $24 and the base policy cost: $18 per month; remaining amount is considered the accumulate cash value). If I cancel before the 18 year anniversary I stand to lose a significant sum from the accumulate amount. read more

All the negative reviews on Yelp about this company are from ignorant people that clearly don't understand how life insurance works. I don't blame blame them; I had to take a 60 hour course, pass an extremely difficult state exam, all before I could be a life insurance agent, at which point I could BEGIN to understand how the products from companies like Am Am work. So if someone signs up, it's not AmAm's fault the client doesn't know what he's getting; it's 99% the clients fault and 1% the agents fault. AmAm is an "A" rated company. It's right there with TransAmerica, Mutual of Omaha, etc. Their products are fantastic. Everyone reading this needs to understand that life insurance is STATE REGULATED. Unless you can point to an instance where AmAm was sued and lost or something, your negative opinions are based on purely misunderstandings. All life insurance products are regulated. Prices differ because the products differ, because different products are for different age groups, different health conditions, and they address different goals. It's no wonder 99% of the people I call on a daily basis are the rudest, ignorant people I've ever met... ya'll just don't get it. But guess what... when you die... whose going to take care of your family when you die?! The life insurance company. And if they don't pay you, it's because you got the wrong product, not because the insurance company screwed you. Classic example... "I have work insurance." Or... "I have term insurance." Work insurance is for income replacement. Who the hell works at the same job till the day they die? When you leave that job, you lose the insurance! So no, work insurance doesn't count. On 4/7/18, we (my husband and I) signed up for a policy through an agent and a week later our bank information was hacked. So, we cancelled the auto pay with our bank and when trying to setup the new account we were unable to (after being in queue as number 21 & 26, I just hung up). During this time we never received a physical copy of the policy so I requested another and had my agent working on trying to help figure it out. The agent ended up giving me the policy number assigned to me, 6/9/18. Well, it did not work and would not allow me to sign on to the website so I requested a physical copy, only to find out that my address was input incorrectly. Well, I waited on the new policy, which did not arrive until 6/21/18, and when I received it tried to login on their website again, and was still unable to do. So, when I was finally able to reach someone in customer service so I had my agent get a more direct number only to find out that my social had been keyed incorrectly as well. So, I said that they could just cancel the policy but was told that I can't because my social does not match, go figure. They then wanted to send me a W-9 form to complete to change it, I think not. I have bent over backwards and they have no sense of business practices. If you choose them good luck but I would never do any business with them. read more
