We went here for our honeymoon due to good reviews and had never used a travel agent before. We…read morediscussed our trip, and she suggested we buy a guidebook for our destination of interest to look at things to do. She gave us a booking quote. We notified her of cheaper airline tickets we saw online and she changed it, saving us a few hundred dollars to put us under our budget cap. Due to the pandemic, we had to postpone. Once we rescheduled, it was like starting over. She quoted a booking for a resort when we initially opted not to do this since we wanted to do outdoor activities and it was more expensive than our given budget. She switched this for us. She booked it under my maiden name. The original trip was under my married name as planned but not this one. She fixed this but scared us about possibly having to sell the tickets and rebook. We chose to have the money put into a voucher with a 25% credit added and were told it needed to be used by the end of the year. I was confused whether that meant needing to be applied by then for a booking after the date, or if travel needed to take place before the date. We asked but she just gave us booking quotes for after the date. Later we found out travel had to be before. She pushed an excursion she recommended which was way over our budget and we had to turn it down multiple times, even if she just didn't want us to miss out on it we were reminded of it too many times when we were already over budget. Pre testing was a mess. She first thought Costco, which was expensive, but later said they weren't reliable. She gave a phone number to call for a place in MN she thought would be free. When calling, the price was $140 per person. Their testing dates weren't able to meet our preflight requirements. She rebooked the flight for this which didn't matter. We found a travel partnered pharmacy that could have done it for the original booking, and that did it for free, again saving ourselves money. Once on the honeymoon, we found out an excursion was canceled weeks ago and they notified the agent to issue a refund. When we called about it, we got an email that we would get the refund and alternative excursion options we denied as we were already way over our original budget due to hundreds of additional fees that the voucher could not be used towards. We were stressed and just wanting the trip to be scheduled to have it over so you didn't feel locked in with this agency. I don't want to use a travel agent again after this experience. Maybe I just prefer to do the hard work and feel good about what I pick and am getting the best deal myself. Ultimately, if budget is a loose recommendation and you don't mind doing some research to finding out firsthand some things that would've been beneficial to know from someone who had already been there, you'll be fine.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly, room clean and as expected. Lobby is small with…read morea couple of comfortable chairs near the coffee station. Breakfast area is behind the lobby with about five tables. A hotel market with snacks, sodas and some quick foods like raman is next to the reception desk. Our King Executive Suite was the the end of the hall. A nice big space with a divider wall between bed and sofa. TV is across from the sofa. Place for your luggage, plus a luggage rack in the closet. Fridge and microwave near closet in entryway. Bed was comfortable, sheets sturdy. Two pillows plus one in the closet. Bathroom had plenty of soft, absorbant towels and personal care items. One switch for vanity light, a second for shower light and fan. Plenty of vanity space. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. They had fixin's for oatmeal, but no oatmeal. Odd. Cold cereal and toaster items plus juice, yogurt, fruit, coffee and Bigalow teas. Parking in their private lot. Easy in and out. Luggage carts are available in the entry. There are several restaurants about a block away.

Even for an economy-tier hotel, this Fairfield Inn was a letdown…read more My room smelled of smoke, it hit me while I was still in the hall, before I even had a chance to open the door. There were long hairs still in the sink and bathtub, which was pretty gross. And the carpet had a mystery damp spot that I had to avoid after accidentally stepping in it when I first walked in. The property feels poorly maintained, both generally and in terms of housekeeping between guests. They clearly need help here. I definitely will not be returning to this property in the future.
