I am confused to why this cab company has so many positive reviews. I was leaving a show in downtown and I called Americab. I was told the wait was going to be 45-50 minutes and cost me $20. Okay...This was going to be a short ride. I was told by the operator they would call me back to give me an update. It was getting late and I did not want to be around the scary homeless people. I called up another cab company. Wow...What a difference. The other company I called sent a cab in 6 minutes after I called. The ride only cost me $11. I never got a phone call from the operator or any update. I wonder the reason for that was the $20 ride. I bet they were hoping for a $50 ride. I wont be calling this cab company anymore. read more

I'm at a loss to understand all the negative reviews. Matt was amazing. We had never met and when I reached out a month ago, he called me back to talk about making a reservation for our upcoming flight from SMF. When I called to book the reservation, he texted me right after the call to confirm the date and time - a 5:30am pick-up. He then confirmed again the night before. He was at the curb at about 5:20am and off we went to the airport. We arrived in plenty of time and paid the quoted price and tip with our credit card. He was extremely friendly and professional. We shared some life stories and our backgrounds. I would definitley use Americab again. FYI - the other company we called which wants you to believe they are Yellow Cab - you only get voice messages, you can't understand most of what's being said and they only want you to book online. You can't ever speak to anyone. So, Matt was way ahead of the curve in terms of response and hospitality. read more

I traveled to Sacramento with a large group and had a hard time finding a cost effective way to take us from the airport to our hotel in downtown Sacremento. Americab was the only reasonable option. I texted Matt and he responded within minutes. I was able to reserve, communicate and pay all electronically which helped make my trip easier. His cabs were waiting for my group at curbside. He made it all easy. He even watched our airline's app for any delays. Definitely book here. read more

I have not had a better experience with a driving company. very nice, patient and excellent drivers. I hope they are the company transports me each time to my appointments. What is great is they call 2 hours ahead of time to make sure your still going to your appointment and lets you ask for what time works better for you. They picked me up exactly the time I requested to give me extra 15 minutes to finish getting ready and so I dont arrive 1/2 hour early. it was my first great experience with provided transportation to my appointments. Web site says wheelchair accessible but when you call you get yelled at with them saying they don't have wheelchair cabs. Disabled people should be treated with respect like everyone else, not yelled at for needing a ride. read more

Adam, one of the owners, destroys this business' reputation. Rude on the phone. Refuses to come inside a condo complex. Condo owner must walk a block in the freezing cold and accommodate him by coming to the front and waiting in the rain. Adamantly refuses to spen 2 minutes entering a gate code and drivong near the unit. I jused OTHER Americab indivuals, just 10 hours ago, for a very satisfactory experience in the freezing cold at 1am. Also, Tom picked me up recently and had no issue coming to the correct unit. If you have the horrific experience of dealing with Adam, just hang up before his negative attitude affects your day! He makes Uber/Lyft look like good service!!LOL Some people don't belong in service industries.... read more

Would not recommend them. Be careful. I live in Bay Area. Needed a ride from Sac airport to my car parked at friends home in Sacramento: 1. Quoted me $35 on the phone. While in Cab going from Airport to car, driver said he was $45. Ultimately he did charge $35. 2. After a long day of travel, I forgot my suitcase in the trunk. Driver never reminded me either. I didn't realize i forgot suitcase until i got home (Bay Area). Long story short; the driver (Dino) made it difficult to impossible for me to get my suitcase back in any sort of short period of time. He became defensive and angry at any realistic attempt to meet one of my friends for a mutual meet up time and place. I finally had to call his supervisor, which was very polite and quick to make arrangements. Kudos to the supervisor. Probably more of a particular cab driver issue but it was a stressful and poor experience. read more

BE VERY WEIRY OF THIS COMPANY!!! Called this company to file a complaint on one of their vans because of erratic driving and ask if they are aware of a van in the general area I was calling about ... the van almost took me out along with a motorcyclist while doing 60mph down south watt ave meanwhile the cab ran the red light. I called the company spoke with a man who claims to be the owner and says yes we have a van in the area and he has no brakes and is trying to take it to the mechanics .... hmmm don't you think it would be wise to tow it to the mechanic ... anyway magically for having no brakes the van came to a pretty sudden stop and as I m talking to this so called "owner" he is calling me a fucking bitch and telling me to mind my own business! Moral of this review check out the companies before you get in the car with them because obviously they have unsafe practices as well as bad practice of customer service and oh that's right making sure they have safety check current on their vehicles. Think about if you were in the car with them the owner would probably tell you that you were a fucking bitch as well and to figure out how to take care of your own injuries! If I could of put no stars I would of but Yelp gave me no choice! read more

This company and the owner Matt used to be, about 4 yrs. ago, very polite and courteous. To date if Matt is still the owner, maybe he does not know that one of his employees (driver) just told me to, "go to hell." After I wouldn't get in the car with the driver. He made me so late I would not be accepted at the Drs. office. Plus he showed up at the wrong apt. complex next to mine and kept yelling at me that he was there! Duh. Then I would be seeing you and getting in the car. When he finally came way too late, he had other people in the van. I had to reschedule. Plus if someone driving you would tell you outside of the van, to go to hell, what would he say while he is driving you? read more

I've used this taxi service on 3 different occasions to get 15+ miles to the Sacramento Airport and I've had an excellent experience every time. I love that I can make a reservation through their website online so I don't have to repeat my address to someone over the phone multiple times. I've been picked up in a newer model minivan each time, even though it's just me riding solo and it's always clean and smelling fresh (which is a big deal to me when it comes to cabs). I know that there are a lot of different taxi companies in the area, but I haven't even bothered with anyone else since the service has been spot-on. Special thanks to "Adel" who has been my driver for the past 2 trips. He's always 10 minutes early and is a very courteous driver! read more

Five stars doesnt even cut it for the service that is offered by Matt and his team. They were early every morning for the pickup, very friendly and courteous. The 20% discount for more than ten miles was a plus when you have to go 10+ miles each way twice a day. But the service was second to none out of the way good. I'm not from California and wanted to try In N Out burger on my last day. Matt drove me from where my conference was to the nearest place and didn't even charge me! He had something to do in the area he said. I called him when I was done and he took me to the airport. Great guy and fantastic service. read more

I gave this cab company a shot and they totally blew it! I had a flight to catch out of Sac International, so I booked a couple days in advance. I received an email confirmation from 'Matt' acknowledging my request, telling me how much the fare would be, and that they'd pick me up (5:30am). The morning of my flight arrives, I'm up waiting and waiting and waiting. No show, no call, no nothing. Thankfully UBER was available in 14 mins and I made my flight. We love Americab. Matt is very reliable. We used him both ways to the airport. Reserving a cab is very easy and the prices are reasonable if you have 2 or more people compared to other cabs and shuttles. With the airport shuttle service you have to ride with other people and be picked up according to their schedule.This is the best way to go door-to-door. read more
