Everyone was so happy to help me and kindly answered all of my questions. The room was very clean. I am such a neat freak and have major OCD and I was beyond thrilled after I walked in (and inspected). The bathroom is spacious and glorious, and they provide you with very nice toiletries and even more like a shaving, dental, or sewing kit, robes, or slippers upon request. They had a gym and sauna that I took advantage of. The gym had limited machines and no weights but a good amount of room for cardio which was perfect for me. The (2) saunas were very nice. There was also a note saying the gym was getting a "new look" the coming week after my stay and would be under construction. The restaurant also looked lovely. I only ordered a hot chocolate and vanilla ice cream but enjoyed both. Wifi kept cutting in and out from my room. All in all, I was very impressed and actually am looking forward to visiting another Leonardo Hotel. What really stood out the most was definitely the staff. I asked a ton of questions and asked for a ton of extra toiletries and no one seemed annoyed or irritated and helped me with a smile. When I had the toiletries brought to my door Stephanie also gave me a little piece of complimentary chocolate. Even though I'm sure it's hotel protocol, I thought it was very thoughtful. The floors are hardwood, the décor is neutral but inviting, bed was very comfortable and the entire space is immaculately clean. The breakfast is amazing and owners and staff will bend backwards to make thinks happen for you. (even if that means to have fresh coffee and breakfast ready for you 1.5 hrs before their actual breakfast time). Big backyard with benches and chairs ....full of Rhododendron and Roses. By food: 10-15 min to the Alstertal Shopping Center and/or S-Bahn. From the S-Bahn it's about 20 min to Hamburg central. Note: the owners have a large Golden Retriever. Sweetheart, who loves a good old bumrub. Just thought you should know that there might be a dog in the house. Support this great little family owned hotel in the Hamburg. Really a great place!

The interiors are dated, with carpets and doors looking like they were at least 30 years old. The important thing, however, is whether you can sleep in the room and if the service is good. There is a road just outside with quite heavy traffic - if you are sensitive to noise I suggest you ask for a room facing away from the road. Service is good and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is served in the morning and among other things there's a wide range of bread and different kinda of ham and juice. All in all I had an okay experience staying here.

Bedding is comfortable, the shower water pressure and temperature are life changing, and the coffee is good! Pleasant staff and a hip lobby all made for a welcome stay. A bonus is that the McLaren dealer/service center is behind the courtyard, so you can enjoy some race cars while sipping your cocktail in the evening. Good value for the stay. The only thing to improve the property is to have a fitness center.

The underground parking is only for go-cart sized vehicles, and the ground level so-called hotel parking is rapidly taken up by random neighbors. Breakfast is 10 euro extra per person and since serving didn't start until 7, we skipped it to get to the airport on time. Main positive about this place is it's proximity to the airport. Staff, when she finally arrived (and she was gone repeatedly during our stay with office locked) was cordial enough. We requested an iron but none was available, she said the one they had was stolen by a prior hotel guest. What kind of hotel has only one iron and then none at all? No elevator or air conditioning, but big windows to let in air and very loud traffic noise...so your choice is no sleep due to heat or due to loud traffic. The sole pc in the lobby (when it was open) did not work. Their office computer was also on the fritz so couldn't give me a receipt for my hotel stay, but just wrote down my credit card number. Let's see if I get over-charged. Too many choices for hotels in Hamburg to put up with the petty annoyances this place provides you with.
