Nice theater experience

Nice theater experience. Staff is polite and professional. Seats are comfortable. Concessions were high like every other place now a days.

Catching a Tuesday flick!

Great Tuesday and matinee specials. Staff did not provide great customer service when purchasing a ticket. They were engaged in their own conversations (non work related) and I had to interrupt in order to make my purchase. Customer service at the food stand was great. Will be returning on a frequent basis.

3.5, 4 stars on a good day.. Upgrades are fab...big, reclining seats, assigned seats, self serve soda machines, self serve ticket kiosk. A star off...lately, I can hear bass and sound from other movies. I can tune it out, but to hear it is slightly off putting. Lastly, can't blame the theater, but ppl not sitting in their assigned seat and me having to ask them to move is annoying as hell.

Cool movie theater. I gave it five stars cuz I didn't wanna knock the place. It's probably closer to 4 cuz it's not the cleanest or the fanciest theater I've been too, but the price and availability of seats made up for it. I came on a Friday night to watch a fairly new movie and there were a ton of seats still available. The theaters are not the biggest, but the sound and quality were still good. I also didn't get ripped off at the concessions stands either. They have a deal if you buy a $12 card you can watch any movie on Tuesdays for $5.49!! Thinking about getting it. Overall, AMC theaters are all pretty cheap across the country, and so is this one.

Theater 1 isn't clearly labeled and you just have to know it's the large main room. The ordering system also takes some getting used to. You start with a QR code but at a certain point it cuts off and you have to handwrite your order on a paper slip and press a button to call your server. In a very dark theater that's not practical, and there's no confirmation that the button was actually pressed. Service was inconsistent. We ordered bottomless popcorn and M&Ms. The M&Ms arrived after about 15 minutes but I had to remind them about the popcorn, which didn't come until nearly 45 minutes into the movie. We skipped ordering real food because we weren't confident it would arrive in time to enjoy during the film. That said, the chairs are comfortable, the staff is friendly, and the pricing is noticeably better than other dine-in theaters in the DMV. It has real potential. Just go in knowing it rewards regulars more than first timers.

It's right by a metro stop but normally I drive to the theatre since parking is validated by the theatre. If you're arriving at the theatre early and you wanna kill some time, depending on what day you go they do Trivia at the bar which is great! Everytime I'm at a Alamo Drafthouse I feel like a VIP. The food is great especially the milkshakes -- never in my life did I think a movie theatre milkshake was great but here we are! The interior is extremely clean and the entire business looks and feels like an upscale movie theatre. You truly get a great cinematic experience when you come to the Alamo Drafthouse.

Going to try to crank out one review today as I monitor work emails. Continuing my alphabet series…read moreonto the letter I representing prior to 2018 is I is for iPic theater and also the 2014 movie, Interstellar! I've been here twice in November 2014 & November 2023. Funny both times were in the month of November, but 9 years apart. November 2014: I was living in northern VA, and I received free tickets to see Interstellar as this theater had recently opened. My impression in 2014 and still holds true today is that this is the nicest theater I had ever been to. Some theaters have reclining seats, but these are large and you get a blanket if you want. There were some good food options, granted overpriced for what you got, were tasty. I brought a date for those movie showing and paid for our food. I got a burger, and she got a flatbread pizza. Burger was good as I recall. 2017 to coming back here in November 2023: I moved to Maryland in 2017, Wheaton 2017-2020, so wasn't too far from Pike & Rose and did go there sometimes. However, in 2018 I became an AMC A-Lister, so I just go there unless there's a free advanced screening or specific movie I really want to see at Egyptian Cinemark or a Regal that isn't at AMC. In November 2023, iPic held an advanced screening of the Netflix movie, Leave the World Behind. I had 4 tickets, invited several friends. There was a woman I liked who had agreed to go initially, but had an issue with someone else who had promptly responded she would go. Incidentally, the woman who I liked became my girlfriend in February 2024, so it worked out well. Shortly after that she buried the hatchet with that mutual friend. As for the movie screening, while not as great as Interstellar, it was still the same positive experience I remembered from 9 years earlier. Things were chaotic as we were trying to get the food & drink, which was included, but we had to check on the food during the middle of the movie, and I missed the very beginning of the movie as a lot of people did. There was quite a bit of time beforehand, but even with the delays occurring, they should've started the movie late unless there was some late movie showing in that particular theater at 10 PM or something. In summary, this is a very nice theater in spite of a couple of flaws.

The proverbial "if I could give zero stars I would" holds true for this theater. I have been going…read moreto IPIC for years and it is finally on the "never again" list. It has really gone down hill. There was nothing good or redeeming about our experience. Let's start with the ludicrous check in process. You pre-purchase your tickets and they give you an Apple wallet pass. When you get off the elevator there is a clear path to the theaters with a person standing at a podium. However, don't you dare go directly to this person. You need to go check in at the ticket booth so they can give you paper tickets. Then you go back to the podium to show them the paper tickets and go to your theater. It wouldn't be that annoying if every single person didn't do this unnecessary round trip. I watched six families lug their children up and back while standing there. Put up a sign. State this absurd process in the email. Next the service. They include a required 18% gratuity on the bill. For good reason. They would have gotten none if it was discretionary. We were in our seats fifteen minutes before the movie start. Nobody took our order until fifteen minutes into the movie. Food didn't show up until two thirds of the way through the movie. Why spend several hundred dollars to take your kids to dinner and a movie if you don't get dinner and a movie. The people two seats over never got their food. The check never came. I had to ask for the check after the lights were on and credits over. Super annoying when sitting there with three kids under 7. Now the food, barely edible is being generous. It tasted like every item had been submerged in a bucket of grease before, during, and after cooking. I now know what the penguins at an oil spill feel like. Horrible. For the price point service should be good, food decent, and experience frictionless. Ipic bethesda failed in all respects.

I've seen two movies each at these theatres and for AMC Courthouse I like it but it certainly shows its age in some places for better or worse. Firstly I enjoyed seeing posters of older movies scattered in the hallway on display like one for The Silence of the Lambs adds a nice charm and while some find it tacky as a cinemaphile I think it adds charm especially since AMC has a habit of showing old films every now and then anyway. The theatre itself is small with only 8 auditoriums yet they're shockingly spacious. And it's a plus that this theatre is right next to the metro unlike Regal in Ballston Quarter which requires a bit more of a wall from the metro to get there. If you have a car there's a parking garage that offers free parking on the weekends. The staff and management are friendly and attentive. The first time I came to the theatre I saw a mouse before the movie started and I freaked out (and naturally so). When I went to management after they comped me a free voucher. I ended up misplacing it but the manager remembered me and still redeemed my free movie voucher for mt next visit. Great theatre and I'm glad this AMC is ran really well. I went early afternoon to see Disney's zootopia 2, so as anticipated there was a large mix of young patrons at the theater with their respective adult guardians. The theater I was in felt a bit small, but the seats were comfy and slightly spaced out between rows. The audio wasn't too loud and the temperature was pleasant. The theater did have a faint smell to it which I'm sure can be addressed after a good cleaning.

The chairs are comfortable and the receptionist were super sweet and helpful. I'd lost my email confirmation for my ticket and was able to call and have a young lady leave a copy of my ticket at the front. It wasn't just that she did it, but she was just so happy to be helpful and I really appreciated that. The movie itself was amazing and it was super cool being in company with people who love something I enjoy so much. The theater provided Shrek ears, a swamp bath bomb. and a blue bird that exploded after a sing off with Fiona haha. They encouraged people to quote, dance and sing along with the movie and it was very cute. I ordered the double cheeseburger burger with fries and extra pickles. The burger was 7/10, they didn't ask me how I wanted it but it was decent. Could've stood to be more seasoned but overall it was a solid burger. The fries were buns, 5/10, no seasoning and soggy. They also sell booze which would be ideal for a late night movie. They provide 4hrs of validated parking which is also a plus so it's quite possible to catch two movies in that time OR have a quick drink at metro bar before your time is up :o). Overall it was a great experience and I'll be back.

I…read moreused to frequent the Crystal City location and had great experiences there, so I was excited to make this one my regular spot. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been a bit hit or miss. Food & Drinks This is where most of my frustration comes in. On my most recent visit (Sunday, April 26) to see the Michael Jackson movie, I tried to order a milkshake only to find out the machine was broken. This is the second time recently that the milkshake machine has been down. At this point, Alamo's milkshake machine is starting to feel like McDonald's... always broken. On another visit, I attempted to order iced tea and they were out. I then asked for lemonade and they were out of that too. I ended up settling for a ginger ale, which I was charged $8.50 for. Prices here are already on the higher side, but that charge felt incorrect since most of the other soft drinks listed were closer to $6. For what you pay, you expect basic menu items to actually be available. I also wish there were more gluten-free food options, as the current selection feels limited compared to other theaters and restaurants in the area. Service Service really depends on who you get. Some servers and staff provide great customer service and are attentive, but others act like they don't want to be there, which takes away from the experience. I did speak with the manager, Peyton, who was kind and apologized multiple times. However, the interaction felt like it lacked the professionalism or experience needed to actually resolve the issue. A small gesture, like comping an item or offering a return ticket, would have gone a long way, especially given that these weren't first-time issues. Ambiance & Logistics The theater itself is nice and generally clean, which I appreciate. The recliner seats are comfortable and, importantly, they always work, which is a big plus. There's also plenty of parking in the lot to the right of the theater, and parking can be validated for the garage, making visits pretty convenient. Overall I really want this location to be better because it's so close to home and has the potential to be a great neighborhood theater. But repeated issues with menu availability, inconsistent service, and pricing concerns make it hard to fully enjoy the experience. Hoping to see improvements, because convenience alone isn't enough to keep customers coming back.
