It makes me so sad that this is the only theater in the Albany/Leesburg area and it's so... nasty! You walk in and there's just this musty smell. The floors are disgustingly sticky. The carpet looks like they haven't been vacuumed in months. The seats just feel so grimy. It sucks because there's literally no other theater to choose from. Food prices are hacked allllll the way up. Like yes, I know they're high but I shouldn't have to pay $8 for a box of candy. Mind blown. I feel like if you live out here and are a movie theater goer, you're better off just investing in making your own home theater because this place ain't it. Avoid at all costs. Screens and audio are clearly needing work. The restrooms always have a strong urine smell that hits you in the hallways. I hate that this is the only choice in Albany. We drive to Columbus over an hour away to see movies now. I will say that while the staff needs some help with the cleaning they have always been pretty friendly. read more

Came here to see IT but ended up purchasing tickets to see The nut job 2. I changed my mind because I actually become a scared little kid once night falls, especially after watching a scary type of movie. While the others I came with were enjoying the movie IT, I was lmao watching Nut Job 2. Before the movie, I purchased popcorn/hot dog along with a drink. The theatre is dated all throughout. The sound was good and the movie played as it should very clear. I give it a 3 for the FREESTYLE COKE MACHINE. The chairs were uncomfortable and I really missed having a table in front of me to sit my edible items. Yeah, the dinner/movie theatres have spoiled me with the reclining chairs and the at your service button. We went out to watch the 7:30 showing of the latest Venom movie. The movie, itself, was awesome. BUT, apparently all the middle and high school kids decided to come out tonight. We were originally on the back row in the middle. Then we had to move over because a small group of kids turned larger. This group talked through the entire movie. Two of them were even playing around to a point where I told the to knock it off. I also had to get a staff member to come in because the group next to us and another group were acting up. Again, the movie was good. But the overall experience was really bad. read more

Extremely hot in the lobby and very long line with only one cashier. We waited in line approximately 20 minutes just to get tickets.

May 19 2019. As we first walked in I noticed around 20 people in line at the concessions with 2 people working them. I also noticed a lot of trash and popcorn on the floor. As I went to purchase a ticket, the lady in front of me was told to wait to come up until she was called, the attendant was on her personal phone. After purchasing our concessions, we went over to find the drink matching flooded with ice, I had to move ice out of the way, in order for my cup to go in far enough. Again, this area was disgusting and full of trash on the counters and the floor. As I went into the bathroom I was hit by a foul smell. The floors and walls appeared to have not been cleaned in some time. The urinal was disgusting with weeks old urine caked on. I also found this to be the case with the other restroom near the theater that was playing our movie. My mother also reported the same findings with the women's restrooms, except the women's restroom in the front was out of order and closed off. The entire place has went down hill since AMC took over. I will say in Atlanta, AMC has amazing facilities. read more

A nightmare of a theater. One day there's no popcorn, no drinks, mess everywhere. But it wasn't just a bad day. Another day same problems. Recently went and they had multiple police there and still had things wildly out of control. Kids running from theater to theater and talking and walking around during the movie. Totally out of control. And kids, including small kids, just hanging around outside of theater. It's being used as a daycare. And I never write bad reviews, but this place is a nightmare and I will drive an extra half hour or more to go anywhere else for movies. read more

This place is way overpriced bow. 8.23 for a matinee picture? 16 something for a single drink and small popcorn? Are you people insane? I will not be back. The floors are dirty and the theater itself has not been cleaned. There are buckets of popcorn still all over the floor. It is the middle of summer and you are not keeping it cool inside either. AMC you have to do better!! The theater had a funky odor! The concession stand was filthy, there was trash all over the counters and floor. The one out of the two soda machines was out of order and flooded with ice. And not to mention the other machine was out of Coke. Even more irritating then having to butter your own popcorn the machine was down and the station was extremely filthy. We haven't even made it to theatre!! The floors and arm rest were sticky. There was still trash on the seats and under the seats. The theater smelled like mold. Not even popcorn could cover that scent. The screen was glitchy. And last you bathroom was nasty! There's water (possibly not water) all over the floors. And trash every where. AMC I love watching movies especially at the theater, and I love doing things in my town. Please don't make me have to go to Columbus, Macon, Tifton or even Tallahasse. AMC YOU HAVE TO DO BETTER!! read more

LESS THAN ZERO STARS!! My son and his 15 yr old girlfriend went to see a movie last night and were instead subjected to a porno in the seat one over from them. Some dude was sitting there getting a blow job. These 2 nasty individuals were right there for anyone to see. The good: 1)They have DLP projectors (Digital Light Processing) which means they use the best technology for picture quality. This is a very big plus. 2)The concessions offer a very good variety of items, even popcorn in different flavors. The bad: 1)The concessions are way over-priced for a city this size. 2)The soda doesn't taste right. (but I haven't found many fountain drinks that do) 3) The theaters smell a bit moldy, but I have been in far worse. Kids and I tried to watch Alice in Wonderland today, and there was something wrong with the projector! We ended up watching How to Train your Dragon. The concession stand offers caramel, cheddar and kettle popcorn. So that was a nice surprise for me since I am use to plain popcorn. I did not experience the moldy smell that Dante mention, but that could possibly due to us sitting in different theaters. read more

Three stars is the average over the 1 1/2 years I've gone here. Like others have mentioned, this is the only theater in a town this size -- which is odd. The staff has always been nice and the different types of popcorn are interesting if you are into that. My review is of my experience today trying to see a movie... twice. I went to see a movie early in the day. I noticed something odd when there was only sound but with picture during the commercials before the previews, but I figured they would fix it. As the previews started playing it was still the same. A worker came in and said that the picture wouldn't come up and the movie wasn't going to play. He offered me and the other patrons the choice to see another movie currently playing or a refund. I took the refund and decided to come back later in the day -- and to a different theater at Carmike showing the same movie. This time I walked into the movie ending. Another worker told me the movie had started late and so would mine. And mind you, this was The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which is almost three hours. The movie subsequently started 35 minutes late... yep. It doesn't end there... Thankfully they didn't show any commercials or previews, but went right into the movie. Only this time the audio didn't match up -- it was part of the music that plays songs before movies. So I got to listen to Christmas music as the movie opened for about the first 5 or 6 minutes of the movie. And to top it off, the curtain didn't pull back all the way, so 10% of the screen was obscured. I thought about asking for another refund, but I figured I wouldn't get two in day. This is an isolated incident but they really screwed up my viewing experience twice today. read more

Very good quality theater for the area. Nice screens and seating, and the concessions are great! I've never seen popcorn flavors at a movie theater like this one (cheese, caramel, candy, etc.). If you go to the movies a lot, get the plastic popcorn tub, as you can bring it back and refill it for like a buck or something every time you go for the rest of the year. read more

If this theater had competition I believe they would be in trouble. The men's restroom was flooded with water. The staff was watching videos on there phone at the ticket stub area. If you happen to come to this theater to watch a movie and you are put in theatre #6 immediately ask for a refund or get tickets to another showtime. 4 out of our last 5 movies have been in theater #6 and everyone of them had broken speakers on the right side. After going back to get refunds (within the first few seconds of the movie) and speaking with the managers everytime, they always claim "someone has already been in to fix it" to imply that it was fixed. Wrong. Fortunately they usually move me to a new time no problem which is why I give them 2 stars but if your theater is broken DON'T KEEP PUTTING SHOWS IN THEM! read more

Just moved here from Cali, very small, and not kid friendly at all due to the people in Albany! Went there with 4 of my younger kids, and everyone was cursing, got really bad stares from the locals, not somewhere for military to go with there families. Not the theaters fault but Albany in general is horrible place, and not a healthy place for kids, stay in Leesburg so you don't get polluted by Albany. My kids were so nervous they wanted to leave immediately but we had already paid for a movie and it will be our last time doing anything in Albany. read more

Compared to places like Atl or Ny, not so great. Carmike was ok, AMC snack/drink updates are a bit better, but most of the staff seem clueless, movie screen issues, no reclining seats, kind of overpriced for quality. read more

This movie changed hands and has gone down hill. Today I watched American Made and they never rolled the curtains back, so the sides of the film were on the curtains. Shoddy work, Coke marching broken and they need someone to operate the projector. read more

This place became better after they enforced their age restriction. If you're under 18, you're not allowed into the theatre without an adult. Which was highly needed because I've been here several times, and during the movie, bratty tweens and teens would be loud and obnoxious during a movie for no reason, but the workers always escorted them out, but now this won't even get the chance to take place as they aren't allowed into the building at all. THANK YOU AMC/CARMIKE for implementing this rule. read more

Bad seats, bad screens, no one was manning the ticket counter....just all together unorganized.

This was my second time with less than expected service. The first time we were served stale popcorn. Last night we literally got slightly stale large popcorn and coke and over half the large bucket was crumbs. It's the highest profit margin there is in the theater without a doubt. Last show of the night shouldn't be left with leftovers I paid $23 or so dollars I expect fresh WHOLE popcorn not crumbs ! I was so pumped when AMC took over Theater as I'd went once before but had horrible experience and it was filthy and stunk at least now it's clean and I'll return possibly but I've made 6 attempts at reaching someone today yet 6 attempts and no one answers phone ! Finally after 3 days someone picked up the phone ! I asked for manager and was told I had to give my name and reason for call ! I stated my name and said I'd discuss issues with management I had to insist 3 times before phone was passed off at which time I identified myself and ask to whom I was speaking with... the response I got floored me ! The lady on the other end said she didn't have to give me her name ! Really ? This is supposed to be management ? I stated I simply wanted to know to whom I was speaking and be able to address her properly she repeatedly stated I didn't need to know her name she didn't have to give it and passed the phone to someone else at which time I was hung up on ! Way to go ! I was so upset I called back later and the actual General Manager answered knew my name and stated 3 employees came to him with same story of how I cussed lady who wouldn't give me her name and that she stated I'd asked for her employee I.D. which in fact I did ask for I.D. # after she refused to give me her name. A.MC. Y'all have a real class act at that location from the GM down this was the worst service I've ever received. First clue you have a bunch of liars working for you.... I don't know her name still and she felt the need for back up to support her lies of giving poor customer service. She knew she dropped the ball and wanted to cover her butt. read more

This place is a joke. I go to purchase tickets for the 9:30 showing of The Visit and I was informed they were sold out. Since they were sold out, I decided to purchase the 11:30 ticket. I asked if they accepted military discounts since the price was outrageous for this viewing. She told me that they did as I presented my military identification. She was having trouble with the computer so she got another employee. This employee tells me that they don't accept military discount for the late viewing. WHY SHOULD IT MATTER WHAT VIEWING YOU ARE GOING TO? I was honestly shocked and felt a little offended by the way the other employee pretty much dismissed and almost belittled the military, assuming I was a spouse and not the one myself serving for our country. Carmike Cinemas needs to get it together and learn some respect for its customers. read more

Your refreshments are out of our reach entirely because of the high prices. A large drink is $6.75 and the annual popcorn bucket is $21.00. We can't afford $9.00 for popcorn. read more

The seats were filthy in an empty theater on a slow night. There was garbage apparent from the entrance and throughout the theater. There was a visible line on the screen throughout the movie, which was distracting. When asked about a discount I was denied, which is fine, but included in the response was a request to add a dollar to my ticket price. read more
