This place was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised. I typically have really unpleasant experiences…read moreat beauty supply stores, but this was definitely not one of them. Although, I wish this place was Black-owned, the employees working here (two amazing Black women) helped me feel comfortable and at ease. The young lady assisting on the sales floor was amazing! I didn't catch her name, but she definitely had the expertise that I needed. I went in for hair fit goddess locs And had no idea where to start. She walked me through everything, made recommendations, and even recommended a few things that I needed and hadn't even thought about. Between her and the girl at the front, I definitely felt very well taken care of. I would highly recommend solely because of these two individuals. And Based on how the young lady on the sales floor was speaking, I'm pretty sure she does hair, too, which makes me feel even better about her recommendations.

He is the back in the day barber, but he is more than that. He is a success story who by all accounts has raised a wonderful family. It was my first time there since 1979 when i was 17 years old. I am now 64. Book with him if you know what I mean. Sitting in his chair was awesome. I was invited back to just drop by anytime and he gave me a beauty salon product as a courtesy. Why you might ask? Because he can. He loves his work and it shows. His salon has some very talented beauticians. I needed a professional mens haircut and he delivers the service any man would want. My cost was very reasonable. He used to cut/style/color my mother's hair way back in the day and she was a nice lady and liked him. He is running a promotion on CLIPP.com to attract new business, you pay $15.00 for a gift certificate and get $30.00 of credit. I gave Mr. John a cash tip shook his hand thanked him for his expertise. Not many around like Mr. John anymore. Thank you all for taking time to read this, now the rest is up to you. Ditch your old place and sit in this mans chair and get a real haircut. Regards to all.

So yes I did a little stalking. Lol. ( I am very picky with my hair)Well, I decided to go and I am so very happy I did. I called to make sure I didn't need an appointment as I was going on a Saturday. Jessie answered herself and advised me I did not need an appointment but she took down my name, the time I will be arriving and advised me to ask for her when I arrive. It took a few rounds around the block to find parking especially since it's mainly metered and it's by the downtown area of Perth Amboy. When I arrived Jessie was sitting in the cashier area and was expecting me, she remembered my name. She immediately took me to the back washed my hair, asked if I felt it clean or if there was somewhere I wanted her to scrub more. We talked about her recent trip to Dubai and my trip to Europe. I felt like we knew each other for years. She did my roller set and placed me under the dryer. She also asked an employee to ask me if I wanted coffee I initially said no thank you but she insisted that I just try their coffee. Btw I am so glad I did! It taste like cinnamon! It was delicious! I am NOT kidding! The same lady also kept checking on me making sure the dryer wasn't too hot. As soon as I was dry another employee started taking off my rollers! I loved the teamwork! I honestly felt the good energy! She did a good job in my hair. Jessie and her team were extremely attentive! This was great customer service! She charged me $40 which I never paid that high the most I paid is $30 but I will definitely be back. Just have to try one more salon in the area. Lol
