It's welcoming and cozy, well organized, and has plenty to do. Adult seating is provided around the room. A well-stocked art area allows for messy creativity. A sensory area allows for play in tubs of rice with containers to fill and tools to scoop with. The museum was well presented; the lady at the front desk was professional, warm and presented well; her intro about the museum provided a great starter to the rest of my exploration of the museum. The facilities was clean and undergoing some construction however none of which negatively impacted my visited. I learned a lot about many great African Americans who are seldom known of by mainstream history so it's a great place for people who want to learn and actually want to learn more about African American and American history overall.

It chronicles the African-American history of St. Louis, and you'd be surprised which African-Americans who are very famous and well-know have ties to this city. The wax sculptures are awesome and really bring life to the exhibits, and most were created by the museums founder, Ms. Lois Conley. I love how they also pay homage to little known St. Louis from the Black community who made indelible marks civically and cultural on the local and state level because you never hear about those heroes and sheroes on the global stage. This is a must see when visiting STL. Admission is $7.50 and there's ample street parking.

It's short, we probably did it in 15 minutes and that was with taking our time. They have cool signs explaining what to do in each room, and the upside down diner was super cool!
