Native Czech, Iveta Fabesova (hence the IF initials), is the pastry-loving chef and mastermind behind this omnipresent café chain that's taken over Prague, all inspired by her love of French Gastronomy. It's honestly a great café. They offer the right stuff, and the desserts are creative works of art. I'd say though that those are their crowning jewels....the desserts. I had coffee, and a breakfast dish, and was underwhelmed, especially when you consider the price (cheap outside of Prague, expensive in Prague). I get it, it caters to foreigners and is artisan in its nature, so each of those elements tend to raise the price. But I wasn't blown away by my meal or coffee. Come here for desserts and you won't be disappointed at all. Your eyes will light up with the choices and the beauty in each one. They do that really well and are a leader in Prague in pastries.

The stone work in the interior is quite nicely done, and the space itself is big enough to fit about 15 or so people. What I really liked about this place was how they personalized their appearance; from the words written on the way in on the stairs, to the homemade sweets made right in their own kitchen (which you can see into), to a cupcake trash can, a coffee mug shaped table, unique artwork on the walls, books scattered around to read. I just loved the atmosphere that they have created here. Also the servers are on top of things and I always appreciate that. Now on to the food. All their homemade treats look amazing, I ordered a venecka (a donut looking sweet with creme in the middle) for 32 crowns and it was amazing. Best one I have ever had in my entire life. I loved it so much that I went back up to the counter to get the last one before anyone else could! Man I want another right now!!! They were just so good. Also their cafe late was quite good. I was very happy to FINALLY find a place worth 5 stars after a while of being disappointed by multiple places. Really truly loved this place. Will be back for more of all of this!!

However, I do wish they had an English menu rather than just offering a translation that isn't always the most comprehensible. I have thought I'm getting one thing, and end up with something different. I will also say, the place is rather small and it can be hard to find somewhere to sit. During my visit today, the service was subpar. I was laughed at by the employees for my attempt at pronouncing a word in Czech, a language I've been learning for less than a week. That was disappointing and honestly very hurtful. Also, four orders of pasta took quite a bit to come out, and the brownie my friend ordered almost didn't come out, the waitstaff had to be reminded. However, the food is really tasty. Perfect portion sizes, great flavors, and lots of variety.

Their chocolate truffles are amazing - you have to get at least a couple when you come here, they melt in your mouth and are so delicious! They also serve tea, coffee and their own "Cocktails" which are really mixed milk-based drinks, which are pretty interesting. I got one called the Coconut Cocktail, which had Coconut milk, green barley, banana and Agave syrup. Tasted Raw and green lol, but pretty good. The atmosphere inside is very quaint and comforting. It's right by Namesti Miru so it's just too easy to stop by for a mid afternoon ice cream. Which is what this review will mainly be about. While I love Angelato and the cafes offering 2AD ice cream all over town, Vanille has become my go to. The ice cream is pretty darn good and only 20 kc for a scoop! I haven't seen a better price for good quality ice cream in Prague. They offer different flavors regularly. I would say Angelato outshines them with their creative flavor combos but Vanille is half the price and way less crowded. So far my favorite flavors are almond (mandle) and frozen yogurt with a berry compote. Also, their chai latte for just 45 kc is delicious!! The cafe was pretty crowded with people working on laptops and miscellaneous other projects, and of course lots of kids around. There were a couple of waiters running around between tables but service was so slow (read, nonexistent for us) that after waiting about 15 minutes we just went to the counter and ordered our tea.
