Very rude manager. We ordered a delivery and the driver delivered it to our neighbours house. Mistakes do happen yes but when calling the manager he was on the defensive and extremely unapologetic and what he said was very rude. He made out that we was not genuine and just wanted a freebie. In fact this is not the case at all. From the attitude of the manager and his lack of customer service we actually decided we didn't want the food. So have just left it outside as the manager didn't want to offer any resolution he just wanted the food back which is fine. We also could see through the bag that the Pepsi can that had been sent was completely damaged on the top of the can. They clearly do not care. read more

Beautiful Indian Restaurant & Bar. Mon Thurs and Sun they do a wonderful buffet - as much as you can eat for £10. The food is superb and so much choice on the buffet. There is Indian and Thai food. They also doTakeaways, A La CArte, Disco & PArty nights. Would thoroughly recommend. read more

Great atmosphere and large choice of excellent Indian and Thai food. Prices are very reasonable and service is quick with friendly staff. Tables are always well laid and spotless. Would recommend as the best Indian restuarant in the area. read more

food average , nothing to write home about, however, 1) they just want to rush rush rush you through no breaks between courses bring next course whilstl eating previous course 2) drinks watered down, ordered orange cordial and water for driver came twice as orange juice watered down, large white wine and soda 2 attempts but still undrinkable watered down beyond belief! 3) bill should have been £17 x 2 plus two extra popadoms i.e. £1.50 total 35.50 plus drinks, they reduced bill from 45.00 to 40.00 are you telling me that 1 x large wine and soda and 1 x orange juice costs ten pounds!!!! we refused to pay for any drinks only paying for the food total 35.50 , man behind till reluctantly agreed very rude and took my cash card off me and turned around when i asked for it back saying the card should not leave my hand and certainly not my sight he became extremely sarcastic and told me to operate the payment terminal myself, he then got into an argument over whether i was compalining about the quality or the quantity of the drinks, i said i would never return again, had been once previously and should have known better however, the female waitresses were extremely pleasant, apologetic, keen to get it better for us and are a credit to the establishment, the man however, taking payment was extremely intimidating and so was his sidekick , does it take two men to operate one tillm are they expecting trouble at payment time, especially off a lady???? take it from me, don;t touch the place with a lamb kebab!!! read more

these people that poo poo this restaurant need their bumps feeling, very hospitable. Abdul, as i like to call him, always seeks to give pleasure to all he meets, I have on occasion used him as my fabien barthez and kissed his shiny slap head, he just laughs . You are greeted with a asian man carving, almost totem pole like, paraded towards your table. On this occasion i took advantage of the sunday buffet for 9.95 and guess what, you can take kids under 10 for free, no charge, zip, nil, gratis you just dont pay for them which is a boon. I started with 2 pops, chutneys etc, followed by what i call "pre main, post starter, " for short. this included onion bhajis, chicken legs , prawn toast, and some red meet type thing very nice. now for my first course main i had bombay potato, lamb jalfezi, mince, yes a mince curry with a variety of rices. I was chatted up by the viet-cong serving lady whom i could not understand but she new what jiggy jiggy was from her eyes, cecil wasnt happy about this and distracted her with his hide the spoon routine, she just disappeared never to be seen again. Paid the bill, 19.90 spot on for buffet price didnt charge us for the water with lemon, and we had lollypops to nosh on at the end which counts as pudding, i shall go again if allowed read more

Findaloo.quick!! my brother, sister in law & i visited this place on christmas day for the eat as much as you like christmas buffet that boasted 40 indian, chinese & thai dishes + a traditional christmas meal.when we arrived the restaurant(if indeed it can be described as such) was gloomy( a blessing in disguise as, having tasted the food, one would probably prefer NOT to be able to see it as well),the disinterested staff were watching the cricket & there were 6 or 8 other dinersso zip for atmosphere.the drinks duly arrived-2 warm beers in thimble size glasses & a thimble full of red wine for my sister in law in a glass the size of a bucket.talking about buckets lets move on to the food. 40 dishes? well if you class stale/soggy poppadums, mango chutney(minus the mango),onion riata, raw fresh chillies, fried chicken skins, sliced raw peppers, onion rings, samosas filled with sage & onion stuffing & tandoori chicken wings clearly made from chickens that were starved to death with a flavour reminiscent of that which one obtains by licking the grate of an open fire dishes then, yes, there may have been 40 items.i won't bore you with details of the cold, stale, greasy & under spiced main course dishes that had clearly languished & died in their unheated bain marie's,left over & lonely from the lunchtime service..suffice to say that the chicken wings were the highlight of the meal.but licking your fire grate works out cheaper and, based on the number of visits i have made to the toilet since dining at chez amantola, better for you. we did of course complain & were met with rudeness(if you think you can cook better then go in the kitchen & show my chef how-chef?have they got one?),arrogance & aggression.it is reassuring to know that the amantola places customer service/satisfaction right up there at the top of the list with quality, taste & value for money.NOT!!. DO NOT GO THERE,YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! read more

We first went to the Amantola restaurant because we were having a meal there with friends, and enjoyed it so much we now visit regularly despite it being a 20 mile journey for us coming from Hoylake. Every time we have been we have been made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and this lasts through to when we leave. All the staff are very friendly and polite, even at weekends when the restaurant can be busy. I think it is better to book a table, however we've been in the past without booking when it was busy but only had to wait ten minutes for a table, and we were able to sit down and have a drink whilst we waited. I've probably been to this restaurant at least half a dozen times this year, despite it being a bit of a distance away. I don't mind having to drive 20 or 30 minutes when I'm sure it'll be a decent evening out. I've been let down by other restaurants in the past, which have been good on occasion but then disappointed me on other visits. Both the food and service are consistently very good at the Amantola, and it's because of this consistency I keep going back. It's nice going down with the family on a Sunday afternoon because the young kids eat free, but it's always a lot of fun when we get our friends together and have the buffet which includes all you can drink!!! read more

I had my christmas party of 20 with amantola queensferry. booked & went to talk about my plans for the evening 2 mths in advance. on the night my guests were kept waiting for 45 mins before the staff took the orders of which everyone got board & fed up. the soup of the day was packet with some lumps not properly mixed, they took some food from the buffet for our table which was not acceptable. i hadto chase staff all night for service and at the end of the evening i was overcharged by £100 which i hadto sort out the next day. staff & manager were not interested. i paid for 3 courses and on the night their were only 2. they ruined my christmas party & i wont be going back. read more

Went to Sunday buffet 17/03/13: What a total waste of my hard earned money !!! Went with my girlfriend and son at 6:30 pm.. Waited and waited for drinks, and then had to ask. No meat in any of the dishes.. Rice was over cooked and hard.. If it wasn't for Tikal chicken wings and drummers we were definitely leaving hungry !! The Asian selection was the same The staff were obviously not trained. Manager prancing around as if he was a "Show off " to his family sat nearby.. To sum it up Stay away and go else where.. Rip Off read more
