A Mexican-styled chain restaurant. Their food can be both bland and disappointing (main menu) and cheap and pleasant (tapas menu). I've been here a couple of times (usually as a second-to-last resort) when other places were full. We arrived in the middle of a night out, hungry, but not starving. The food we ordered was fairly plain, it was presented fairly plainly, (take it or leave it). I have to say that my dish, a toasted sandwich of white asparagus, egg, lettuce, onion & tomato was basically nothing more than an egg salad sandwich on toast (my accompanying chips were cold, skinny & feeble-looking). The reason that I don't give Amanecer 1 star, is that my friends enjoyed the offerings from the tapas menu (€1.50 for an aubergine roulade!) and the table opposite seemed to have ordered some unholy, lasagna-burger beast!
It's a shame (or not) that a chain restaurant offers fairly substandard fare, when there are so many fantastic independent places nearby. The Tapas menu is better value than the main menu, sit down for a beer but eat elsewhere read more
