I highly recommend ordering your flowers here. I wish there were more photos and examples of their bouquets on yelp. I saw a couple of photos I liked and decided to call them to see if they would do a same day delivery. The lady was very pleasant and easy to work with. They don't have a website because they only do fresh flower arrangements for the day. Bouquets start at $40 and delivery is $10 plus tax. I told her how much I wanted to spend and said I wanted a simple vibrant arrangement with some roses and lilies. I mentioned I wanted some purple in there. Athough they have a beautiful selection of flowers, including blooms you won't find in the many downtown flower stands, I sort of regret my purchase. I spent $80 on two bouquets which was too much for the types of flowers I bought. I got orchids for my mom at about 1/3 more than I would usually pay downtown. But I was in a rush, so I wasn't scrutinizing on price. I would recommend this shop for anyone looking for exotic blooms, or if you want the freedom to put together your own bouquet - stem by stem. The guy who works the stand is quite a character. When you get there, be prepared to talk about who the flowers are for, for what occasion, how long have you been together, what you're doing for the rest of the day, what do you think the he/she is going to think of their flowers, where do you work, for how long, where you went to school...etc. etc. He also engaged me in a game called, "guess how much this boutique is worth." Another great find thanks to Yelp. I was in a bind and procrastinated on buying flowers for my / our anniversary. I dialed up Yelp in the FiDi where I work to look for flowers and quickly found this place which is a block away from where I work. I called and the owner was nice enough so I decided to check it out. As others have mentioned, he is a character. Loves to talk and will happily tell you all about flowers or anything else you're interested in talking about for that matter. My wife is unfortunately extremely picky when it comes to flowers. She knows where the best ones are, makes stunning arrangements herself and probably knows as much as most florists do about them. She actually loves her arrangement! Score! I must say it is really beautiful. I'm sitting here smelling it permeate the room with beautiful smell 3 days after I brought it home. Happy to have found this place and I'll return. read more

HOW CAN THIS PLACE HAVE ANYTING GREATER THAN 1 STAR?!?!? I fully understand that this is a mom & pop shop, and I truly believe in supporting businesses that charge a small premium in exchange for excellent customer service, but as hideous as the flowers were, the service was even worse... First of all, it's not a shop at all, it is an 8 by 8 kiosk in the middle of the embarcadero building; so to highlight the fact that their selection is absolutely handicapped would be an understatement. Secondly, I'd like to tell you why I've named the owner of Amadeus Flowers "TWO-FACE". When we first started chatting, he seemed in my opinion to be the most charming man in San Francisco; in fact, I was almost willing to forego his lack of selection just to support him as a person-the mark of a true salesman. So I picked out a vase, and told him to arrange the flowers of his choice for my girlfriend.... HE QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $145, and keep in mind that this was an extremely skinny vase which would have at maxiumum held 1 dozen long stem roses...Naturally, I elected to see at least 1 more florist before I decided to donate to a heinously over-priced flower kiosk for the sake of a charming man...So I politely told him that I would call him back in 20 minutes if I decided to puchase his arrangement. Moments after my comment, his face literally changed...he released his contrived smile, suddenly looking 10 years older...he then proceeded to turn his back towards me and move on with his day...he didn't even bother to say anything nor did he hand me a business card...seriously, I hate that guy.... o ya, and free delivery my ass! his profit margin would pay for a personal delivery from Paris Hilton.... read more

I spoke to Jola, one of the owners of the shop and she was most helpful, very knowledgeable, her husband Jon delivered the flowers an hour and a half after I ordered them. Oh oh! Here we go again! Valentine's Day came around the corner and I was in dire need to buy a dozen roses for someone on the dime for a special girl! What can I say? I'm a guy who procrastinates with these things! I quickly did a search on Google Maps and found quite a few florists within my area. I called each florist to get a price range that didn't go past $120.00 for a great floral arrangement of red roses. Amadeus was the 4th florist I called. When I spoke to the lady, she was very kind and extremely helpful. I asked her silly questions that a guy would ask her and she answered every single one without getting annoyed. I asked her if she would be able to deliver the flowers within the next hour and she happily said, "No problem!" Now that's what you call "customer service!" I didn't bother to call anymore florists and ordered immediately from her. Let's talk about the flowers. You and I both know that ordering from florists can be a hit-and-miss scenario. Either the arrangement looked very tacky or the flowers were not fresh or looked damaged. Nothing is worse than ordering from a florist directly and having them send flowers that look like they were ordered from 1-800-Flowers. (If you don't know, you should always order directly from florists since those "boxed" flower deliveries are always horrible.) The flowers from Amadeus were beautiful! The rose buds were undamaged and they were arranged beautifully. The roses were dark bloody red and they were matured perfectly. They didn't look like tiny rose buds that weren't matured and they didn't look as if the roses that blossomed 1 week ago. The rose buds were in the perfect "middle" stage. The vase they used was simple and did not look tacky like something your grandmother would use. Oh, before I forget, when I was about to end the conversation after I submitted the order, she THANKED ME for being so helpful. I was a little shocked by her gratitude but that last statement made me into a loyal customer. I will always order from Amadeus Flowers. Sure, the flowers were a little more than what I wanted to spend, but I am one of those people who would pay a little extra for excellent service. Kudos to Amadeus Flowers! read more
