Real estate is the business of people and relatioships. Realtors in this market are making quite a bit of money with the least amount of effort required when buyers are having to bid on houses with their (insultingly instructed) "highest and best" offers and are even foregoing inspections to get into homes. "If you already submitted an offer, then why are you calling me?" Because, Mr. Realtor, even though you're earning your living by seemingly doing the minimum in this case, others may still believe in making an effort to serve their clients and continued to develop working relationships.

The agent I had used to purchase my house seemed just average, so when it came time to sell it a few years later, I went on the Dave Ramsey website to get the names of his Endorsed Local Providers. I interviewed all three recommended by Ramsey, and Ken was easily the stand-out. Ken's experience and intelligence are impressive, and he also has a great sense of humor and is easy to work with. Ken came up with a unique strategy to list my house for 20,000 more than the other agents. I think that his ingenious plan was the result of his many years of experience and his keen insight into the appeal of the house to potential buyers. The house is a midcentury modern, and Ken understood that while many people would not be interested in it, a smaller subset of buyers would love it and be willing to pay extra. Ken was able to get a full price offer within three days. The offer came with some potentially worrisome contingencies, but Ken did a careful analysis and chose the exact right course at every turn. He handled the transaction with confidence. It was all done so smoothly from start to finish, I didn't have to worry about anything and was able to focus on other aspects of the move.
