First, motel office closes at 11:30p. So make sure you get there in time to check in. We got there right before closing.
It's a cheap place to stay. We booked through Travelocity while on the way to Galveston on a Friday night. $55 for the 1 night.
There is nothing fancy about this place. It's a small old motel, looks like could be a family owned/operated type of place. The office staff were very friendly.
Outside: When pulling up to the room (office is across parking lot from rooms), it looks a bit run down and there were several gents hanging out on balcony, so it's a little off putting. However, they were nice and were probably just out smoking (rooms are nonsmoking)
Inside: Again, it's an older motel. Old carpet, old furniture, but it looks like they are working on some updates in the room (newer floortile in bathroom and new tub liner). Floor was not level and toilet felt like it leaned back. Lack of water pressure in shower and pillows being flat were really the only issues I had.
It's exactly what I'd expect for the price, which is why I'm giving it a 3star. It was clean and the A.C. worked and sometimes that's all that matters. They serve a hot breakfast on weekends, which was nice. We had country potatoes and sausage roll ups.
I can't say I'd recommend it for everyone, but I'd probably stay again. read more
