Things that stood out was that I felt like a part of their family. When a pergola got delivered and I needed help unloading, Zach had the crew over to help. Two weeks daily, always on time, always with a uniformed crew, always with the bulk materials arriving and refuse being picked on time, a comprehensive, well-discussed plan, and, a contractor with a pretty decent personality, always willing and receptive to listen. It was not a cheap job, and it involved removing tons of contaminated top soil and old lawn, roots, old piping, etc., etc., planting, grading, DGing, and putting down artifical turf per the plan. I have watched many an episode of Peoples' Court featuring lawsuits against a variety of landscape contractors for a variety of reasons. No chance of that here. The not professional and even disrespectful things were these: I was asked for pliers and a ladder to start with. (Please have your own equipment that's why I'm paying you.) Second I came out to one of his helpers holding a hammer (that was inside my home, and he did not ask to use or go in) bent over and broken. He then asked for another hammer which he also broke. I was already not happy not to come out another time to check progress and catch him stealing an avocado from my tree in front of the owner Gus. (I would have let them have as many as they wanted sir they would have asked) When the job was "completed" I went out to find plenty of debris, weeds and un edged parts of the yard. When I brought this to their attention, I was told they couldn't fit anymore into the truck, and also that he would go get the shovel and finish. (Again, this is an equipment issue/dumping planning) If Gus can get a solid team and proper equipment his business would flourish and be great. *** RESPONSE TO HIS FALSE ALLEGATIONS CLAIM RESPONSE*** No one said you took any tools. You read this and raged because someone told the truth about what happened. Both hammers are here and broken by your team. I caught your worker stealing an avocado in front of you. You were paid $300 less for not picking up all the debris, breaking my two hammers, having a worker go into my house and grab my hammer without permission, and also drinking while on the job. (I saw the empty tall boy on the side of the truck in my driveway after your break). When the job was done we both walked around and you agreed and said you understood what I was talking about when I told you what I didn't like. Even said you already talked to your workers and agreed that it makes YOU look bad as an owner. This is a red flag to anyone reading. Tell me which one of these is false?
