Terrible customer service and the owner Derek is the worst ! We purchased a acrylic rain deer on Sunday unfortunately it blew over on our grass even though it was fixed down. I am fully aware this is our problem and not Altons however I wanted to enquire to see if they have a warranty with their supplier as it would appear that there my have been a flaw in the acrylic due to the manner in which it shattered. Sadly we always use Altons for our garden in spring and summer and of course the great selection of Christmas decorations but as the owner Derek was so rude and reduced me to tears I will never go there again a truly disgraceful way to speak to any customer. I will be advising all my friends and family to go else where!!! read more

What an amazing garden centre, I remember going there as a child with my parents when it was just a small family business. It now has such an extensive range of plants and everything possible that you would need to renovate your garden. Indoors there is a huge range of house plants, plant pots, garden tools, books, ornaments and picnicware. The garden furniture is very high quality, but very expensive. I love the coffee shop, although it is more like a restaraunt as it sells main meals as well. At christmas it is absolutely beautiful, they use amazing decorations, it is quite magical. There are a good range of Christmas trees too. I always end up buying far too many plants as I just can't resist them they all look so lovely. I have to say they are very good stock as they thrive very well even in my garden. I would recommend a visit to anyone even if you are not a gardener just for the experience. read more

Alton garden centre may be good for buying garden gear but the Sant's Grotto this year was a complete fiasco. We queued for an hour despite having booked an allotted time, with 4 children who became bored and restless. It cost £40 too. This is what happens when money is paid up front, it doesn't matter what sort of service is given. Never again! read more

love this place!!! lots of everything lovely plants, garden furniture,gifts and too much to mention if you love your garden and being outside you'll love it .
