The wine selection was a bit on the sweet side for me. The beer variety was good. If I stay in Honau again, I will eat and stay here on account of the service, good Wi-Fi, and overall ambiance of the restaurant.

The room was small but suitable for me. The downside comes primarily in Wi-Fi. It wasn't working on the day that I arrived. It was supposedly fixed but was never usable from my room. It could connect to the router, but couldn't get to the outside world. I could get a better connection by standing in the parking lot and catching the free Wi-Fi from the next hotel. The shower was clearly in need of repair. There was no shower door although it was clear that it once was there. The window of the room was also a door to a patio (nice) but the patio was shared by about four rooms and I later found that it was also the smoking area. So I got to close my window (no air conditioning in the room) to stop the smoke and then had to listen to the conversation outside my window and have the curtains closed for privacy. I read a lot while there... As a restaurant: The restaurant side doesn't improve matters much. The menu is typical German fare, but so are other places nearby. I love a mom and pop operation, but this one seemed more like we were imposing on their home than having dinner. My group ate dinner there on the day of arrival and not again. The price vs. food, service, and ambiance is better within a short walk.

Being in Schwabian country, I wanted to get my fix of the local cuisine, and I wasn't disappointed! Must haves are the Schwabian Pork Medallions over Spätzle and the Maultaschen (my fav was the cheese sauce...the sauce alone is good enough to just dip bread in and be content, but throw a German "Ravioli" or two in there = MIND BLOWN!).
