Stylists and fashion designers say that the best and most flattering clothes are the clothes that fit you well. And I'd have to agree! There's nothing better than feeling great and confident in what you're wearing. Altering isn't all that expensive (might be if you're altering a lot!) so if you have extra cash, definitely get your clothes altered. It would be a great investment! Especially for clothes for special occasions or work clothes - power dressing! "Dress for the job you want, not for the job you have." Am I right, ladies and gentlemen? :)
Being 5 foot nothing has proven difficult in finding clothes that fit or have the right length for me that sometimes I'd resort to buying stuff at the children's section! Will all my petite ladies please stand up? You all get what I mean, haha. Anyway, I have a background in Fashion Design so with basic clothes I usually just alter them myself but if I need professional service, I always go to Alter Station. We've gone there for years and it's the best alteration store we've tried so far - good service, affordable prices and nice staff. Just remember to not forget about the stuff you got altered or they'll go to a stock room in their main office never to be seen again, haha. They don't do reminders which would have been convenient, but in the end, your clothes are your own responsibility. :) read more
