It lacks the opulence and grandeur with it rationalistic architecture and stark somber even gray blue hues. Seats are old movie house quality and not spaced so that they stagger and you need to crane your neck or bob left and right to get a clear view of stage for the most part. We mistook the adjacent theater with the opera house so that could get confusing if you are running late as we were. The Rigoletto performance was fabulous and the performers and orchestra flawless.

Not doing any research prior to buying tickets, I had no idea what to expect of the venue. This place has two levels. The main level, where you walk in is like a bar / lounge area, with a full bar and just a general nice relaxing scene. Downstairs is the "concert hall," which also has a full bar, along with some open space and a stage on one side. It's not a large venue by far, but I have to say that the acoustics in there were amazing. The staff here were friendly and the concert experience was a positive one. At one point I had to go upstairs, as I needed to get something like a red bull, as I had flown in earlier that day and needed a pick me up. The bartender upstairs gave me something similar and told me it was on the house. What wonderful service!! I'd be curious to know what this place is like when there isn't a band playing, but the location is fantastic to the underground and is a very nice location in the financial district of Frankfurt.
