I do not disagree with the people who rated this place and commented on its great atmosphere and drinks on Alte Liebe's facebook site. However I would like to share my experience that was quite negative and shocking. I was at Alte Liebe with my family and friends for the New Year's celebration. We were an international crowd that included people from Germany, the United States and Latin America. We were enjoying our time and not bothering anyone at all. At one point, an "oriental" (how they call people of middle eastern descent in Germany) looking person approached my sister's husband who was the only man in our group and demanded he leave the club because the lounge belonged to him and his friends. He pushed my sister's husband and started yelling some more. A fight broke out and 10 other men from the same group ganged up on my friend swinging their fists in all directions. When security arrived they asked us to wait outside until they clarified the situation. When they came out, they explained that they will not be able to throw out the offenders because they were friends with the DJ and it will look really bad for the club if the DJ leaves as well . The manager who came out to talk to us apologised for the situation but said that it would be best if we leave. What is really unbelievable is that a respectable place like Alte Liebe allowed the criminals to stay while throwing innocent people out!!! We were not drunk, we did not start the fight and we were minding our own business! What kind of security can we even talk about if Alte Liebe lets in savages that threaten safety and well being of their customers??? I heard about incidents like that happening in low class establishments in crime ridden neighborhoods but never thought it will happen to me in the middle of Hamburg! It was the worst experience ever and I will definitely won't be coming back and will not recommend this place to anyone else. The owners of Alte Liebe should definitely reconsider who they hire to provide entertainment and who they let in the club. read more
