The store was soccer-themed, had a bunch of devoted employees, and a store manager that kicked arse. Why do I remember that? Because I was one of the first employees there. Decent job for a student, back then. Today, I'm driving down memory lane and visiting this McD in one of Berlin's troubled neighborhoods. It's been almost 20 years and it's somewhat... shocking. They got rid of the drive-thru. The restaurant looks plain and abandoned. Two bored employees are running the whole show. Moreover, the burgers taste like crap. Sounding like an old grumpy man but - things were really better back in the day.

For less than 10 Euros, I got a plate that was almost too much for me to handle, but of course I'm always up for a good challenge. The plate came with salad, fries, protein, and bread. I even tried a very interesting Ice Tea Watermelon. I'll be honest. I wasn't able to finish all of the food. How did I end up at this place? While visiting my friends, I stayed just a block away. I almost wished that I ate here a few more times during my visit, but there were just too many places to try out. My friends wanted to make sure that I got the full German experience. I was able to order despite the language barrier. I assumed they spoke English, I was wrong. Communication was very limited, but it worked out well.
