We had significant damage to our very old and very large tree in 2021. Branches fell during an ice storm and damaged our roof and fell with such force they impaled our yard several feet down. We were concerned the integrity of our tree was no longer intact and that the entire tree may fall on our roof endangering our children. Altar scheduled us quickly, especially in light of how swamped they were with the amount of damage through the greater Salem area, and assessed the damage to our tree. Ultimately the tree had to be removed And they fit us into their packed schedule. Their whole crew was professional and kind and the whole process only took an hour or so. They cleaned up absolutely everything, even going so far as to fill in the hole left by the tree and spreading the dirt and bark. We will be using them again for tree trimming. I was very happy to find this company. I had previously worked with a company I liked and trusted but a retirement brought about a need for a change. Happily, one of the Altar co-owners worked for a long time with my previous company so I felt confident using them from the start. I moved to a new house where the trees had been neglected for a long time. Altar came out to help with an urgent need quickly in the spring and then did much needed TLC on 5 trees recently when it was the right time. They worked very hard, used techniques that were good for my trees, did an amazing job on clean up after the work, and they were friendly and professional. Given what was done, the cost was extremely reasonable. They'll be back to remove a dying tree soon. I'm recommending them to everyone and some of my neighbors are already using them too. read more

This company is awesome! I highly recommend them. I studied the internet and found Altar. Altar's reviews are strong and with good reason I found out. I called the office and Chelsea was so nice and made an appointment for Carmen to come for an estimate the same day! He was on time, very nice to work with and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We had a Maple tree to take out and a huge tree in back that needed a lot of trimming. Chelsea called me back the same day Carmen had been here with a date to have it done....in just a week and a half. The guys were here today to do the job and were so easy to talk to and work with, professional, and did a phenomenal job. Excellent experience working with Altar Tree service from start to finish! I appreciated the prompt request for quote and the walk through on site with Carmen was informative and no-pressure sales tactics. This was a big job and their scheduling was flexible and easy, breaking up the work into 3 days. We had 19 oak trees removed, and additional heavy pruning was completed as per scheduled. At the end of each day I did a walk through with the crew Forman and I really appreciated the level of effort made with the clean up of the job site. I had a tall oak tree in close proximity to my house so naturally I was concerned about collateral damage. The crew was careful and no damage occurred. We had Altar Tree Service handle pruning of several trees and removal of some dead limbs. This is an annual service for our trees which we have had other tree companies perform over the years. While we used our previous tree company for several years, I have to say the results achieved by Altar Tree were impressive and their cleanup excellent. I had a big oak tree fall onto my roof as a result of an ice storm. Despite widespread damage (trees and power lines down on roads), they were able to send someone out the same day to assess the damage. Again, in a difficult situation, they were able to get a crew out within 3 days to remove the tree. I called for an estimate and Carmen came out that day! I didn't have trees removed...instead I needed mostly labor...pulling weeds, mowing, weed wacker, spraying. He said it wasn't a problem and we set a time for the crew to come out. I was so happy with their work! I used Altar Tree Service for the first time this year to remove an overgrown Sweet Gum tree hanging dangerously over my house. They did an excellent job taking it down, removing and disposing of limbs and clean up. They came out and quickly took down 6 large Fir trees that were too close to the house to try to do myself. They dropped all six the same direction and cleaned up the area really well. My tree had heavy ice storm damage. The pruner did an amazing job of cutting out all dead limbs while leaving the good limbs alone. He took great care and effort. All the crew worked amazingly hard.
