Alstonefield Manor is a beautiful place to stay, set in stunningly beautiful countryside. It's like arriving to something out of a picture book! The village is quaint, the locals friendly, and when you arrive at the Manor, Jo and Robert offer the best welcome you could ask for, with freshly baked goodies and freshly made pots of tea, brought out into their beautiful garden overlooking the countryside. What better welcome could you ask for after a long journey?! We stayed in the Estate Rooms, and were pleasantly surprised by the tastefully furnished Boston style decor. We had a very enjoyable, comfortable stay, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alstonefield Manor to anyone wanting a peaceful, relaxing stay in an idyllic setting. This is a fantastic location from which to explore the stunningly beautiful Peak District. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here whatever your pleasures may be!
If excellent cuisine is what you enjoy, a short walk to The George pub in the village is well worth a visit. We had a fabulous meal that we couldn't fault, and once again recommend it highly. In fact, we enjoyed both our meal, and our break in Alstonefield so much that we're going for a repeat visit to both the Manor, and to The George for a celebratory visit very soon, and can't wait to introduce both to my parents, who I'm sure are going to love the experience! read more
