I first discovered this honest, hardworking, and professional plumbing service when our church had an issue that several plumbers either didn't want to take care of or wanted to charge the church in arm and a leg for. I fully understand that in plumbing there are elbows to be had but we were not about to give up our arms and our legs. The pastor of another church said Hempsey was the plumbing contractor to use for home or for business and that he trusted them completely That word trust really matters! Honesty really matters! The ability to take on difficult plumbing tasks or the simplest most minor issue that an elderly individual or disabled person might need help with matter. This weekend a problem arose with plumbing and I knew who I had to call. The call went out to Hempsey and I couldn't be happier. Hot water is back, the bath water is comfortable, and it was all done for reasonable price within the anticipated time frame. Absolutely five stars!! They treat you like family and they had total respect for the church when the church needed the work done.

Roto wanted 10k. We wanted to price check and my husband called Hempsey's. We received an immediate call back and a quote for around $7-8 k so we nabbed it. All in all the guys were wonderfully kind and friendly. It was done all in a day on NYE.. We wound up having to replace a water pipe too so that was added to our estimate as agreed. They were courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and local.. I will highly recommend them to anyone I hear has plumbing issues.

Took him maybe 30 minutes to fix my one leak and then he went to fix my other toilet that hasn't been functional for a month now, just been putting it off. Got it all wrapped up in about 90 minutes. Gary was knowledgeable, professional, and very kind. I would definitely recommend his services to any one in the area!

Unfortunately, my experience since then has been extremely disappointing. As of June 26, 2026, Bill has been giving me date after date for over two months, promising to return and finish restoring my backyard, but the work still hasn't been completed. My yard is left with piles of dirt, uneven ground, and a large section of concrete that still hasn't been patched. Because of this, my kids haven't been able to safely play outside, and I've had to put off hosting family gatherings all summer. The most frustrating part is that the job has already been paid for. The repeated excuse has been that he's "busy," and communication has been inconsistent, my calls and texts are only answered when it's convenient to him. I appreciated the quality of the plumbing repair itself, but customer service and following through on completing the job have been very disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

So needless to say when our toilet wasn't working and wasn't responding to attempts to get the water to go down we wanted to make sure we would not relive this nightmare again since both times we were held responsible for the bad plumbing in my building. We were told that the builder New Orleans had a fire and all the plumbing plans were destroyed. No lie. So I called the HOA emergency number to send out a plumber from Root 24. The plumber was rude and intimidating and treated me and my 85 year old mother as if we were idiots. Clearly a misogynist. I would never let them back in my house again. So the other day I got this bill for $948 for a "Clogged" toilet. This is infuriating. DO NOT use this company. They will take advantage of you and stick you with an outrageous bill. They should lose their license.
