After we had these guys work on the Mothership (our motorhome) twice, we feel like we found our home base fir our rig. Their communication (thank you Jennifer) is always timely and explanations fir the service performed is thorough. We also had them upgrade our suspension and steering stabilization. The result was amazing. (Thank you Justin) They turned our lumbering motorhome into a smooth riding sports sedan (well, almost) . They said they did work and changed me for it they didn't do. I had my rig there for two months while they did the estimate. I paid $160 for them to cover it with a tarp due to a leak in the roof. When I went to pic it up magically the tarp had been shredded in a wind storm just days before and they hadn't had any rain ......... when I opened my RV I had standing water on the floor and bed. Nicole hardly let me explain my 2018 Tiffin recall repair issue before abruptly cutting me off to tell me they are booking out to August! This is June 1st! Then she says they don't do "warranty" work.... Tiffin Wayfarer 24 TW needs factory-supplied wheel covers! She assumed a Class A repair, I guess. We purchased a Leisure Travel Vans Unity murphy bed model in Seattle. We were looking for a place in Bellingham to have it serviced as we are maintenance intensive. Additionally, my wife neither enjoys traveling to Seattle or the traffic there. Our murphy bed electric lift was making an unusual noise when retracted or extended so we had Al's look at it. They said that we needed to replace the bed lift, so we did. On the first journey after having it replaced the electric bed lift failed after being used three times. The lift gears were damaged and the bed was unlevel and would not retract. So our vacation abruptly ended as we had no place to sleep. It is worth noting that the murphy bed lift had worked for nine years prior to being repaired at Al's. I did a little research on the internet and discovered that the bed lift was a known issue. We told Al's that we wanted to have the bed lift converted to manual operation. What Al's said they were willing to do was to warranty the electric bed lift (which took months to get the parts for) with the bed lift manufacturer and do the same repair again. What we really wanted was a solution that would make it less likely that we would have to cancel a vacation and be down for another year. As waiting several more months for a job that was not recommended and could fail again after three times was not enticing, we declined. Additionally, the RV was at Al's for a water heater replacement that required paint to match the coach. Al's had mangled the base plate when they removed it. The explanation was that the manufacturer had used too much adhesive. So we had to have the service panel painted.The paint job took over a month. So summer and fall are now gone. We had to cancel all reservations for 2021. The year was a write off. When we went to pick up the RV, the coach was disassembled inside with the murphy bed wall unattached and lying on its side. The interior was a complete wreck. The only work that Al's was doing was on the exterior. We requested that Al's not work on the bed lift. The load they left lying around inside shifted on the way to the storage facility with a crash. The paint was bubbled, they gouged the side, the stripes did not match. After sitting in Al's storage lot for over a month the Unity was covered with blobs of sap from the trees over the lot. We had to use solvent to remove the sap. They forgot to turn the master power switch off, which caused the coach batteries to completely discharge. We found battery acid spilled on the body above the coach entry steps, and on the steps. It was the repair job from hell. We sued Al's in small claims court for the botched bed lift installation and the paint job. The bed lift installation was around $2200 and the paint job was around $400.We were awarded a judgment for the faulty paint job, and Al's had to reimburse us for the filing fee. After our small claims court session, the owner expressed to me the sentiment that "You would have done better in mediation". He didn't get it. It was not about the money. It was about doing the right thing. We hope that others do not find themselves in an Al's situation. Beware of the repair order that Al's will ask you to initial. It says that you have a ninety day warranty. We do not live in our RV and it does sit in storage for longer than ninety days at a time. So the warranty may be useless by the time you are able to use your RV. We bought the Unity from Johnson RV in Seattle. When we notified them of the bed lift issue at Al's more than two years after we purchased the Unity they reimbursed us for $2200. They did not have to do this. Johnson charged it to "customer satisfaction". Even though they are in Seattle, we will go there for service. They service other manufacturers. They are honest, professional, and prompt if not local. It is well worth the effort to get there. read more

I had my MH winterised there and have for many years, this year I had/have a problem, they would not even give me the "time of day" to see if the problem was related to their work! Very disappointed in my experience at Al's. I had camper tie downs and stable loads installed. Before I picked up my truck they called because they felt my turnbuckles were insufficient. They recommended $500 turnbuckles. Without notice thats not in my budget. Had they gotten more information when I originnally ordered  parts and I would have budgeted them in.  I got home and was surprised they didnt tighten the lock nuts on the turnbuckles, raise the rear jackstands all the way and mounted my camper so I couldnt access my gas tank. These details made me look closer at all of the work and I discovered the stableloads were hitting my frame.  I contacted Al's to let them know about the problem. I took my truck in for them to see and was disappointed that they seemed annoyed with me about the issue. After 3 employees looked at it to confirm I'm not a moron and it was indeed hitting the frame they agreed remove them. It was frustrating that one of the technicians said he wondered about them fitting. If there was any doubt about the product being compatible with my vehicle they shouldn't have installed them. There are other products they could have suggested. I lost $300 in labor to have a part that wasn't compatible installed.  They did refund my money for the cost of the part. It was frustrating they seemed annoyed with me the whole time and didn't once apologize for the mistake. In addition to losing $300 for labor on a part that didn't work I lost hours of time. My time is as valuable as there's. Being short staffed is not a valid excuse.  They know their staff and are either over scheduling them so they can't do quality work or they'd don't care. I waited a little over 10 weeks from ordering parts to get them installed. I was completely understanding about the wait and I was extremely polite through the entire process. At the end of the day they're so busy and I'm not dropping big money so they could care less. read more

They over filled my oil and it ruined my air filter. They wouldn't admit their mistake and pay for a new one. They said my valves were bad on my brand new generator. After I filled the oil to the proper level and replaced the filter it was fine. They will never admit their mistake. Must be a liability issue. Newbies stopped in because airstream battery wasn't charging while we drove. Al's was busy and short handed but after listening to us looked at our truck battery and 7 pin plug cable. The battery was missing a connection and the cable damaged. It was a few minutes of kindness and we greatly appreciated it. I just had another wonderful experience with Al's RV in Bellingham. I have an older camper van that needed skylight windows replaced (due to a dumb move on my part). Due to the age of the van it wasn't possible to order replacement windows. The staff at Al's figured out a way to retrofit the window openings with new glass. It looks fantastic! Jen, the customer service person I dealt with, was super kind and the tech who did the repair work was very skilled. We had a water leak in our travel trailer. I found Al's on - line and called to see if they could look at it. We set up an appointment and dropped it off. Within a couple of hours Jen called to let me know that the water pump had gone out . We agreed to replace it. I was expecting a couple of days at least to here back that it was finished. After researching solar options including installation I chose Al's as I felt after talking with them that they were very knowledgable. Have used Al's RV a few times. The work has been satisfactory. The reason I am leaving a "one star" is this. My very good friend had Al's redo the roof on his 2003 Class A motor home. They charged him some $6,000 to do the job. 2 years later my fiend had this same RV in for service and minor repairs at a local (Langley BC) well known and trusted RV dealer. The inspection showed that the roof was in poor repair, leaking, and mouldy.This is the same roof redone by Al's. Al's was contacted and said the repair is out of warranty. Too bad. The damage was so severe that it cost over double the original $6,000 charged by Al's to do the necessary repairs. So, if your RV needs roof repairs, it is suggested that a source other than Al's be used. read more

Al's I-5 RV in Bellingham, what a rip-off! I have to blame myself for not doing the homework on this place. My motorhome went in for an inverter repair. Long story short...the inverter was replaced, went home and plugged the motorhome into shore power and instantly fried the microwave, DVD and I still don't know what else. The problem appeared to be faulty inverter wiring. Do you think they might have plugged it in and checked things out before I picked it up? Assuming that they would look after me I brought the rig back and left it with them for repair. A week and a half later I arrived to pick up the motorhome and was told by Vic Grass that I needed to pay the bills before he would release the motorhome. WHAT? Was it my fault they installed a faulty part? To get my motorhome out of that facility I paid under protest and am now dealing with getting reimbursed. I have paid for a DVD player that is not in my possession and was told by Vic that I will be charged to install it when I come to pick it up. I was also charged for service I did not request. I feel there was a lot of overcharging and he assumes no responsibility for damage done to my motorhome by a part that they installed. I was also made to pay for all parts before they were ordered. The "local, family operated, friendly business" is currently owned by Vic Grass. I was told by Cindy they are set to retire in the near future. Vic Grass turns out to be an unreasonable man that should have left the RV business many years ago. His "mission statement" is exactly the opposite of his goal. The outside repair on the microwave was padded by $40.00. 10 days later the DVD player was picked up. I paid $284.00 for a new one, it ended up being USED. Online I found 3 new players ( my model including speakers and remote in a box) for less than $284.00. The inverter was made by Xantrex a company that went above and beyond to help us out. I can not say enough about the service we have received from them. We have discussed the overcharging, tax on tax and other questionable charges with them. They are behind us unlike Vic Grass. At this time there are still some unresolved issues! Enjoy your retirement Vic, it will give you lots of time to think about all the people you ripped off over the years! read more

Imagine coming onto I-5, from Wenatchee after spending a marvelous FIRST trip with your brand new travel trailer and after stopping for the commuter lights you get rear ended . . . .oh my gosh. Unbelievable! Well, it happened BUT the great news is that the ladies insurance company was wonderful and while Al's I-5 RV was not on their list of preferred vendors, they had no problem with us taking it there. Now for the BEST PART, the crew at Al's I-5 RV were thorough with locating all the damage, where reasonable with their estimate to repair the damage and were so FAST. It was done ON TIME and it is better than it was before the accident. I love the guys at Al's I-5 RV, you won't go wrong taking your rig to them. They do AWESOME work! read more

Slow to learn, I wasted the benefit of the doubt (repeatedly) on these guys! $2700 spent 2010-2012. Far too many poorly executed repairs or scheduled work not completed as promised. Last straw July 2012 with only 1 of 5 requested repairs done competently. Poor results outweigh seemingly attractive hourly service rate! I understand that business was sold summer 2012 to employee technician and father. New owner technician himself did many of the shoddy repairs to my trailer while an employee there. In my experience, they grudgingly honor their service warranty. When it became clear I wouldn't be spending there again, they refused to honor their warranty on their last work. They appear to overbook, and so requested repairs were often not completed or rushed jobs done outdoors in rain. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

bought a used rv in arizona-had no manuals and very little help from seller--on the way back to bellingham i had an accident with a telephone poll---since i was going to store the rv at i5 i let them handle the very extencive insurance claim they worked with the insurance carrier on the estimate, did as much of the repairs in house, sub out what they coulgn't do and kept me posted as to the progrees at all times. after the insurance claim work was done they walked me thru the whole process and took the time to help me understand the differant systems in this couch.. needless to say i was very pleased with the dedication and job they did read more

Al's RV is now owned by Andy Lott, Sr., assisted by his son, Andy, Jr. and an entire crew of friendly, professional, and helpful men. I have received nothing but excellent service from them. The first time I needed their help was the day after my RV had been "repaired" by another RV company, in which they replaced some expensive part of the furnace (fortunately it was covered under warranty.) The furnace had the exact same malfunction that it did prior to that work. Turns out, the problem was just a faulty wire; problem was that unless the entire unit was taken out, that wire wouldn't be visible. The other company didn't bother to do that; Andy did that first thing. I have used them on several other occasions and they have done a great job every time. One of their employees, Alessandro (spelling may be incorrect) even went out of his way after work to bring propane to me when I was unable to get it refilled by myself. read more
