Believe the reviews…read more I ordered a medium peperoni and spicy sausage pizza and drove 40 minutes round-trip to try this place out and was not disappointed. In my opinion, it's their sauce that truly separates their pies from any competition. It tastes like it's made from an old family recipe and we're all lucky to have it bestowed upon us. I will be a repeat customer here for as long as I live in Durham.

We recently visited this small family-owned pizzeria in Ajax and had a fairly average experience…read moreoverall. The ambience was decent but nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and maintenance of the washrooms were a concern. One washroom was out of order, while the other was not well maintained, lacked tissue paper, and didn't leave a great impression. For food, we ordered a half-and-half pizza. We were actually the only dine-in customers at the time we placed our order, although the restaurant was receiving quite a few phone orders. Even so, our pizza took about 25-30 minutes to arrive. While it wasn't bad, it was fairly average in terms of taste and didn't really stand out. The bigger disappointment came when we noticed that we were charged more than the prices listed on the pamphlets available in the restaurant. When we asked about it, we were told that the prices had recently increased. While price increases are understandable, this should have been communicated when we placed the order. Even the digital menu screens were displaying the old prices, which made the situation frustrating and left us feeling misled. It's always nice to support local businesses, but transparency and attention to customer experience go a long way. Unfortunately, the pricing confusion, long wait, and maintenance issues made the overall experience less enjoyable than we had hoped.

If you do decide to order the Chicago Deep Dish, that takes at least an hour to cook, so call ahead. Even the Detroit style takes about 30 minutes, so plan for the wait.

The best part about this place is the very friendly, warm service. Amazing people. My biggest critique is the pizza and the veggie in particular. The pizza is watery and this is likely because they put raw veggies on the pizza before it goes in the oven. An easy fix is to quickly sauté the veggie first before baking on the pizza. There was also no flavour. Just very disappointing. Kids enjoyed the cheese but in my view overall it's too pricey for what you get.

They have a huge menu of pizzas, pasta and more but I ordered a medium classic pepperoni because I knew it would be good and I'd have leftovers for later. Friendly service from Inthu who was at the front counter and my friend got her classic pepperoni slice right away. Mine came quickly in about 10 min and it was really good! Loved the taste and the small pepperoni that's usually on Detroit style pizzas. Dough was fresh and crispy! I found out that the chef named Kanan is husband to Inthu and originally worked at Pizzeria Libretto on Ossington Ave, Toronto for 14 years! This explains the high quality taste of pizza here at a great price! I had a great chat with Kanan and he was proud of the quality ingredients of his pizzas. I told him I could taste "love" in his pizzas and he smiled saying that when he makes the pizzas he always thinks of the people who will eat his food and really enjoy it. I'm definitely making a special trip back here and try more on their menu. Highly recommend!

Well, at 9:30 there wasn't a lot of choice so I took a look at Yelp. And Jim's had a pretty good rating. I ordered and then received my pizza very quickly. Man, this is good pizza. Loaded with toppings! So much cheese! My wife would love this. The cheese has more flavour than you will usually find and Jim's sauce stands out through the toppings. It tastes like real tomatoes not spaghetti sauce. And has texture. Seems they are using real food ingredients rather than super processed alternatives that may be cheaper. The funny thing is, this pizza is very inexpensive. I would definitely return to Jim's next time I'm in Port Hope. I look forward to trying more of the items on their menu.
