The day comes, it's not the company I hired it's some independent landscaping contractor who gets there late and leaves early. I reached out to the company to say hey I don't think I should have to pay for this full time when they got here late, left early and the yard is still messy. They tell me that they arrived on time, that some time is reduced because the contractor has to pick up the equipment and that he was there the entire time. I work from home I can see and hear when the yard work is being done. I can say that the contractor did spend 20 min with a leaf blower in the corner of my driveway blowing air at literally nothing. The backyard was cut down with the clippings left to sit on top of what was cut, the front yard wasn't touched. If you can get the actual company they do five star work if they get you a contractor run. They won't believe you and they will charge you for half ass work.

They brought 2 loads of chips later in the summer. Then, last month a huge, healthy-looking 90' tall tree fell and I learned that 4 others were at risk of hitting buildings if they went down. There were also 2 junky cherry trees and a smaller crab apple to be taken out. Two crews (10 men) started at around 9 AM and finished at 6 PM. One man cleared a long area of brush to be covered with chips, which was my original plan before the tree fell. They ground all of the stumps, the huge root/dirt ball, spread all of the chips and cleaned up as they worked. I am very happy with their work, promptness and pleasantness.

We had 3 redbud trees under the big ash, and they managed to miss all of them with all of the branches. I found their price to be reasonable and all of the crew nice and professional. I (stupidly) gave them a 50% deposit to start. They started 7 days after the scheduled start date, which would not have been a problem but they would text every day and say they would be here tomorrow. They were very sloppy, left tools, trash, food wrappers, boots, and shirts strewn about the property. I even had to loan them tools.(which were left outside in the rain). I could have dealt with all of that if the final product was decent. This is the worst concrete job I have ever seen! I am embarrassed for anyone to see it. They did not do what they were contracted to do. They were supposed to even out where the garage met the driveway by cutting a straight line with their concrete saw...when it was time to pour they said their saw was broken. They had issues with the concrete company and held us hostage when the last concrete truck came... they said the driver would not pour the concrete unless we paid him 1800.00. We felt we had to pay otherwise we would have a 10'x15' area without concrete. Once the final truck off loaded the concrete, Malaki (the owner) said they just had a little clean up to do and they would return the following day to clean up and cut the expansion lines. He wanted another payment of 6500.00 to pay his grandfather and uncle and his partner Gray. I gave him the 6500.00 since he said the wet concrete would level out and they would return the next day. I never saw him again. I texted and called him on numerous occasions... once again nothing but lies. They never returned. I had to pay someone to finish what they could not, which was removing the form boards, piles of concrete in the yard and around the driveway and the metal posts that held the boards in place and lots of trash. I gave them ample opportunities to make this right. They chose not to. The driveway is cracking, has large ridges, bumps all over, in lots of areas you can see stones, divots, and tool marks. Water puddles in many places. Worse job I have ever seen. At this point the entire driveway has to be torn up and redone based on an engineers report. If they made the effort to try and fix their mistakes by using a grinder to smooth out the many many perfections and cut the necessary expansion joints I would have thought at least they tried to remedy the situation. They installed a drain and never hooked it up which means the water is draining under the driveway. Please reach out or direct message me if you would like to see the driveway or photos. Hired this company to remove some overgrown boxwoods that were covering my windows, plant some…read moresmall boxwoods and azaleas, and clear an area of grass for me to plant flowers. It looked good right afterwards but my first attempt to plant flowers was brutal. Digging a hole was impossible. My vision of planting flowers in that newly cleared area was dashed. Grass was obviously not fully removed before putting landscape fabric and mulch down, and within a very short time, I had grass growing in that area again. I was very disappointed and called multiple times to request that this be corrected. It took a little while for them to come back, (hurricane played a factor,) but they finally did and this time they removed ALL the grass growing underneath the fabric cloth, put down new fabric cloth and fresh mulch, and did an absolutely beautiful job. Although they didn't get it right the first time, they were honorable and came back and made it right so I'm giving them five stars. I also want to mention that one crew found a key I had forgotten I hid in the removed bushes and handed it to me. Pretty amazing!
