The only way I became aware that the visit was not billed as a wellness check -- and that I was responsible for an unexpected balance -- was when I received a bill several months later. I was never informed at the appointment that this would occur or that the billing would be handled differently than what was scheduled. In my opinion, this is fraudulent billing -- patients should never be misled about the nature of a visit or the financial consequences, and should not learn of unexpected charges months later with no opportunity to correct or question it. I will be reporting this practice to the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners and the Nevada Division of Insurance.

The day before, we hiked Mount Tallac Trail, a strenuous 10-mile round-trip hike through Desolation Wilderness with about 3,200 feet of elevation gain. We started around 10:30 a.m. and it took us about six hours to complete. Between the heat, elevation, and intensity of the hike, we were both completely exhausted, dehydrated, cramping, and definitely in need of some serious recovery. For me, hydration is especially important. I was released from the hospital only three months ago after a six-month stay , multiple surgeries and an ileostomy , and I currently receive infusions every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday back home. Since I needed an infusion that Friday while we were in Tahoe, finding this place was perfect timing. Maggie recommended the Myers Cocktail, which ended up being exactly what we needed after such a strenuous hike. She was incredibly informative, kind, professional, and gentle.
