We asked for a quote, we got a written one with everything laid out with pricing, what was to be done and an estimate of how long. They came along when the weather was a good for them to work and they got on with the job. The took two days to complete the job and each day cleaned up any mess and left the place spotless. Part of the job was to remove one chimney and take below tile level and the job is so good you would never think a chimney was there. All in all I'm more than happy to recommend them and the first class service they gave. D Ratcliffe

Top notch builder!…read more The process: I decided to extend the front of my house to increase my living area. CJK Builders came highly recommended by a friend of my sister. I received a very detailed quote and decided to go ahead with the work. Building work was completely contained on my property and the impact on neighbours was minimised. A lot of effort and attention went into the groundworks, structural alterations and brickwork - the building inspector made positive comments and noted that David, the boss, dealt with issues that other builders would apparently have just left (there was a steel beam in an unexpected place). Project management was excellent. As soon as one stage of the work was finished, the next stage started and I was kept up to speed throughout the process. The people: The core team were professional and friendly which is important when they are going to be around your home for a couple of months. Neighbours have also mentioned that the team were nice and friendly. All contractors were 5 star - all nice people that I was happy to have in my house and good at their trades. David had promised me my job would get 100% of his attention but I think it actually got 110%. He is a perfectionist and nothing was too much trouble. He was happy to discuss little details that he probably didn't have time for, such as where to put sockets, and also made suggestions, such as glazed internal doors, which I'm very happy with. Yes, there is an architect's plan and construction is a process, but the overall feel is that David appreciates that he is creating your home, not just a house, and he puts a lot of effort in to ensure you are happy with the end product. So, the end product... Internally, the house is transformed and finished to a really high standard. Externally, the house looks excellent and various neighbours have complimented it - can be summed up by the neighbour who described it as 'a cracking job'. The end product massively exceeds my expectations and I love it! Would I recommend David and the team? Absolutely!

Hardworking, very personable and very customer focused; I can't fault them. They went above and beyond by rectifying problems from a roofer who basically done a botch job and even tried to solve a drainage problem. I can't praise Paul and his 2 sons (Dean and Chris) enough for their help in spotting some serious structural problems, and although it did cost quite a bit, it has probably saved a fortune and extra aggravation at a later date. Total jobs done and content with: New lintels throughout, new wall ties, part walls replaced, both horizontal and vertical fractures fixed and made structurally sound, guttering, fascias etc rectified. If you want a job done how it should be done get Paul and his team to do it.  Read their reviews; they pride themselves on never having been called back to a job in 26 years - that speaks volumes.....

In my particular case I had a pilot light which had twice gone out and was reluctant to stay lit. The engineer informed me it was due to static electric due to my not using my central heating. I only use the back boiler concerned to heat my water and dont use the radiators because I use my gas fire. Well it is now twelve hours since he left and the pilot light is still lit. We'll see if there are no more problems as I would have first suspected the thermo coupling device but I am no expert.
