"I have been a Self-Defense student with Alpha Omega Combatives for approximately 4 years. My introduction to Alpha Omega Combatives (AOC) and the expert and proficient team of instructors, Jim, Chap, Tom and Marcus, was at a Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) class that I had signed up for. The CCW class was taught by AOC Team Leader Jim Olson. The class was very detailed and clear with emphasis on the legal responsibilities of every CCW permit holder. I wholeheartedly recommend the Concealed Carry Weapons Permit class offered by Alpha Omega Combatives. I truly believe that it is the best of it's kind offered to the public. If you seriously intend to legally carry a concealed weapon, then this is a must attend class for you. Shortly after completion of the CCW class with AOC, I took an introductory Pistol class with Jim and Tom of AOC. That would lead to many many more firearms classes including home defense pistol, shotgun and rifle. All classes are always held in a safe and controlled environment. Instructors emphasize safe handling of weapons at all times, functional knowledge of the weapons being used, combat focus shooting, target acquisition and target accuracy and weapons proficiency under stressful conditions, to name a few. While I was attending the CCW class, I noticed that the instructors were wearing shirts that had their AOC company logo which included the term Krav Maga. Having already studied Martial Arts, Shotokan Karate, for more than two decades and having seen a documentary on Krav Maga, I was indeed familiar with this Israeli Self Defense system. Upon further inquiry I was both surprised and happy that AOC taught Krav Maga right here in my hometown. I also began Krav Maga Classes as well, shortly after my CCW class. All of the Alpha Omega Combatives instructors have multi-disciplined backgrounds with respect to martial arts, self-defense and combat tactics. While the course itself was based on real-world concerns for law enforcement and security personnel when dealing with combative subjects, what made the course stand out was the knowledge and professionalism of the lead instructor, James Olson. As an instructor in Krav Maga, I have traveled to training sessions held at Alpha Omega and have had the opportunity to work with students and instructors from here. I have taken two courses for firearm training. Although I did go to a shooting range when I lived in NJ, it has been a number of years since I shot a gun. I made this decision because now I have my CCP, I thought I needed to get training to be a responsible gun owner. I was very pleased with the training I had with Tom. He corrected some bad habits and this allowed me to become a more accurate shooter. Their prices are very reasonable priced for individual classes that last one hour. I took a week long class from J. Olson in March for LEO DT. He has great knowledge and experience for which he is willing to teach to all whom want to truly learn. I wanted to get my concealed weapons permit and did so through Alpha Omega. I went to the concealed training and then my first experience firing a weapon in a shooting range. They made me feel very comfortable. In addition I had a second session with them to get more comfortable shooting. All the trainers were very respectful and really know their business. The instructors at Alpha Omega will teach you critical survival skills on how to beat an attacker.. It is by far the fastest way to empower yourself in a world where unfortunately bad things happen to good people.. I think women should be required to take at least one class to gain a sense of awareness that these bad things could essily happen to them. I don't want anyone to be a victim. read more
