I have known this mechanic for years thru my mom, and I always ask him what he thinks - as he knows Asian cars very well. Good trustworthy mechanic, glad to graduate my older age (miles) car to this Technican for ongoing oil changes. Yes he is a one-man shop so I try not to waste his time and also not rush or take too much of his time. He is fluent in Korean, but my Korean is only broken so it was nice to explain the same thing in the different ways and & hear his explanation. Can't believe I haven't written a review for Alpha Auto Center yet! This has been our family go to mechanic for the last several years after being referred by family friends. From my old yucky Jetta to my Lexus now, he takes good care of all of our cars at a very reasonable price, and what I appreciate most is his honesty. He does a really good job and is one of the nicest mechanics ever. I always take my cars to Alpha Auto on Blossom Hill Rd. for anything not transmission related. Shawn is very reliable and honest. My sisters car was making noise and I took her over there and when he looked under the hood, he saw a loose clamp and also saw that she needed a new cap on the radiator. He put a new cap on and tightened the clamp and didn't charge anything. No upselling! I started taking my car over there when the dealer always wanted to charge $1200 every time I took my car in, even just for an oil change. I have had to take my car back in one time,he was very apologetic though, and very quick to fix it. His prices are very reasonable and I recommend him. read more

Kyong "Sean" runs a small auto shop that specializes in Japanese and domestic cars. I first came to Alpha several years ago when the check engine light came on in my Celica. Sean quoted me a fair price to run diagnostics and locate the problem: a bad oxygen sensor. I asked him how much he'd charge to replace it, but instead he showed me which part to replace and said I could easily do it myself. That's my kind of mechanic. After my initial visit, I continued to bring in my Celica to Sean for routine maintenance. He's always been honest and up front about the condition of my vehicle. He's very knowledgeable and considers cost/benefit before recommending an expensive repair. One time he topped off my oil free of charge. Alpha Auto Center is a small friendly shop that does honest work for a great price. If the same service were to be developed into a bigger shop with more staff, I'd give five stars without hesitation. read more

My mom's car was overheating and losing water. I asked some friends and they recommended Alpha Auto Center. In my youth (just turned 70), I was a professional auto mechanic so I knew all the scary and expensive possibilities that it could be. So, I dropped it off at Alpha. He called and told me the timing cover was leaking. I had never heard of the water jacket being routed through the timing cover. I haven't worked on cars for a long time (spent the last 30 years in Information Technology) so I took his word for it. He quoted a very reasonable price (it's a lot of work to get that timing cover off and back on) and I OKed it. When I went to pick up the car he had taken pictures of the engine block after the timing cover had been removed and sure enough the left & right engine bank water jacket ports are routed through the timing cover and I could clearly see where the leak was. He also beat his own quote. I will return to Alpha for my own cars. (With poor eyesight & too old to do it anymore). read more

I had a very bad experience. Although my car doesn't need an air filter, the owner installed it without any notice then charged me.

Same for me and my mom. We've been going there for years. He is really honest. Learned alot from the guy, he tells us what we can do on our own as well. No charge. I know I'm giving him a 4 star, but only because he is all by himself so he gets alot of customer but he makes oil change like any other place in less than 15-20 minutes. read more
