There is ample parking for the event on the Kohou side of the street. During regular school hours - visitor parking is accessed from Dillingham boulevard. Halls and classrooms are clean and well-kept. Bathrooms are identified by Wahine (female) and Kane (male ) signs. I saw many security guards and felt safe to be on the campus. There are many interesting programs at Kapiolani Community

The great lawn, the interesting art pieces, a nice library, variety of food options for students and the public alike under normal circumstances. Unfortunately we are not under normal circumstances so the campus is closed to the public- EXCEPT: when the open market is open on Saturdays, from 7:30 to 11am. Not as big as before, and they are located in parking area closest to Diamond Head Theater (ewa-makai). Other than that- Kapu to the public. (Not opened) Because of the nature of the pandemic it could shut down again so read the papers on the latest changes to lockdown rules. So when regular accessibility returns to the public at large, come by and see what this beautiful campus has to offer. Nice views, decent food options during the week days and delicious culinary delights courtesy of Kapiolani's world class program in the evenings. Support local education!

As part of this retreat, a group of us were tasked to do a group presentation to address three questions. To help us prepare for this presentation, the firm hired Alt to facilitate the group discussion that would provide the basis of the presentation. What I loved about Alt and his style was that he knows how important it is to understand the group dynamic, so, prior to the retreat, he met with each participant to get to know us and find out what we individually hoped to get out of this retreat as well as our concerns. This was also to help him better facilitate the group discussion. At the retreat itself, he did a fantastic job of facilitating the meeting by starting us off with the goal of the meeting and laying out ground rules to ensure we would stay focused on the topic at hand and be able to hear every participant's opinions, thoughts and questions in an organized and respectful manner. He made sure to block off time at the end to allow us time to discuss how we wanted to do the presentation and practice it. During this rehearsal, he gave us feedback and his thoughts on it. While he didn't have the chance to see it, the presentation went well. The second time the firm hired him was to do a training at our annual firm meeting. He did a fantastic job there, too. He reached out to people prior to the meeting to get a sense of the firm and be able to tailor his presentation to the group. He was mindful of the time as he had to cut some parts short. I loved the stories and anecdotes he shared to really bring in the points home about finding the work/personal life balance. Highly recommend Alt for meeting facilitation and trainings. Ever since the retreat, I have always looked forward to the next time I get to work with him.

Alt is extremely responsive and is thorough in his communication. He provided clear instructions on what needed for the seminar to get the most of our time with him, and he even went the extra mile and customized scenarios to make them more relatable to our team. These personalized touches really had a big impact on our employees and made a significant difference, and our team recognized it. Alt is an incredible speaker and possesses a remarkable ability to engage his audience. Our team was able to connect with him on a deeper level based on his presentation and examples. I would recommend Pacific Training and Facility services. You will not be disappointed.

First time visiting the Art School and first time working with a handsaw. Metalsmithing is no joke! My left tricep is sore just from holding the copper piece in place. The instructor, Juvana S., was professional, approachable, friendly, and seems knowledgeable. I found myself wishing the class was a YouTube tutorial because I need to watch/hear some things on repeat and also pause when needed. The class went on a good pace though since my fellow classmates were mostly new to this type of thing. The Metals Studio has everything (I guess) stocked and laid out. The three hours went by really quickly. I can't wait to learn more in the weeks to come!

We showed up minutes before intermission and right away I noticed... 1. The sound quality was poor (you could barely hear from the back where most of the crowd was standing) 2. There were limited stools to sit on but a majority of the crowd was standing... 3. There was a tent with free beer but they don't serve during the presentations (intermission looked like a scene from Walmart on Black Friday) The presentations were... not what I expected. The next Pecha Kucha night is on March 9th and I think I'm going to give it another shot. Chamorro Grindz was the featured food truck but we ate before we came (the reason why we were an hour late). The highlight of the night was when I discovered that teachers can check out artifacts to share with their students ... for free.
