Absolutely first rate. Dr. Alocozy is an exceptional internal medicine MD. He takes time to listen and is great at explaining issues. He has been my primary MD for over 15 years. I have complicated medical issues, and he keeps them sorted out as well as tracking when I see another specialist. I could not ask for a better primary MD, even if I wrote a script. read more

Dr Alocozy is our family's primary care doctor. I have only good things to say about him; caring, gentle, calm, accommodating, and profoundly knowledgeable. Let me start by saying I have been going to him for over a decade so I have experienced just about everything people have said in their reviews. The staff has one person who's always factious and narcissistic and I've put up with it for so many year I decided next time it happens I'd get in her face and confront the situation as I do not f@ck around. She must have smelled the bloodthirst somehow or read my last expression because for about a year now she's never there or in the open when I show up. So why the 5 start then? Because 99.99% of the time over 10+ years he's been amazing and often the staff is chill too on average. He genuinely cares make no mistake about that but there's many things involved with decisions as a doctor and he makes the right decision just about every time. The only time it was counter productive was he cared a little too much once with me and I won't go into detail but his concern for my health prevented me from getting what was absolutely needed at the time. But again it was because he cared. I suggest if you go in and have a weird experience to give them another try. Don't even bother wasting your time with this doctor. Not a true primary care physician. Lazy diagnosis of any issue as "probably just anxiety" but has an office policy that they will not prescribe anti anxiety or anti depression medication. Ignores patient and family medical history. Will not treat car accident injuries without cash payment up front, only providing a receipt and telling you that you will need to collect reimbursement from your (or the other drivers) insurance on your own. They will also tell you they want to see you every 6 months and threaten to drop you as a patient if you say that you only see the need for a yearly checkup. You've been warned... read more

Complete waste of time . He was assigned as my new primary scheduled me for 6 months out . I filled out new patient paperwork that he didn't even look at . I have had hypertension for the last 10 years diagnosed in middle school I have been off medication due to lack of insurance blood pressure at home has been running 120/ 100's or high 90s . Assistant took it manually and said it was 118/70 which I knew wasn't right . Checked it when I was home 120/93 . Also recommend exercising and losing weight told him I have been off my anti depressant and have no motivation too . He conveniently doesn't prescribe psych medications even if you have been on them previously so now need to wait for a psych appointment to be able to get refill . Also said I had hepatitis A at some point in my life and that was news to me have never heard that from any of my primary care physicians . I have only used my Sutter insurance for urgent care when I had strep throat so how he would have a hepatitis A result have no idea . Waste of time . Wish I would have read reviews sooner and changed primary's instead of waiting 6 months for noting . Refilled my hypertensive medication with a 90 day supply . Wants to see my back in 4 weeks to review labs he ordered will not be going back . read more

The doctor *really* needs to fire Mary. Very unprofessional, snide and rude. She never calls back when she says she will. Told me that she'd call me back in 20 min., then suddenly change her tone, and Told ME to call back in 20 min. only to learn that she'd left for the day. I played phone-tag for nearly a week on an issue that's very time-sensitive, only to be told something that simply wasn't true AT ALL She blamed the doctor for the stupid reply, and I was told something so ridiculous that she likely made it up. I wish I could give less than one star. I got the impression, every time I spoke with her that this person isn't very smart. The story changed every time I spoke with her. Apparently he's the doctor for my father's memory care facility and I was hoping it would work, as it would be so convenient, but I really I wouldn't want this doctor near my father. To hire a person who's both rude, and stupid is a good reason to keep on looking for a better place to take my father for his heath care. I don't trust the organization. He may be a decent doctor, but you've got to wonder why he'd keep someone around who's obviously hurting his practice. You've been warned. read more

Dr. Alocozy is a wonderful doctor, but his staff is a one star. Their office policies are backwards, they do not have the latest technology, not an e-mail! I needed a copy of my medical records, called twice and received two different answers. I was hung up on by his staff, they absolutely refused to thoroughly listen to my needs, never once acknowledging my concern. Until he can improve his staff and customer service, I do not recommend this office. read more

My mom has never had such a patient, compassionate, respectful and thorough doctor. I never want her to change PCPs because Dr. Alocozy is as good as it gets! His staff were all very helpful and professional too, even though my mom and I came in with a long list of questions and health concerns. Wish I could leave negative stars. Worst experience with a doctors office in 30 years of seeing doctors. The staff told me that Hep B and Hep C are the same thing...this should tell you all you need to know about their medical competency. Staff is rude, lost my insurance information somehow, cancels appointments less that an hour before. Doctor is a joke, wants you to come in for a visit every time you need a refill just to get your $$$. Do yourself a favor and don'e even call this place. read more

We are very upset with the office staff (specifically Mary, the office manager) that I can't bring myself to give more stars to my rating. Jessica and Yvonne were helpful, when able. I took my parents to see Dr. Alocozy a total of three times, I think. We moved from the Bay Area and their insurance was still in the process of being transferred. My mother has many health conditions that require constant monitoring. In any case, we had to take her to the ER on Wednesday evening, August 3rd. The ER staff had determined that she needed to be on oxygen 24/7 but had told us they were no longer able to send mom home with a prescription - that new rules state that her Doctor had to write the prescription for oxygen. They wouldn't allow us to leave until we had the oxygen so they made the appointment for us to see Dr. Alocozy the following day. They were going to send her with a non-emergency van to be sure she had the oxygen during the trip. We told the staff that we had leftover oxygen from years prior but the regulator was broken (we could only use it at full flow) and there wasn't much left. We had to stay in the Sutter ER room overnight because of this. They wee able to make arrangements with an oxygen company to give us a loaner the following until we had our own. Good news the next day - the staff was able to make an appointment at 1:30pm. They told us to make sure we didn't leave the doctor's office without oxygen. Went to see the doctor who wrote out a prescription for oxygen. No problem. On my way out, I asked the staff if they would call it in for me because (1) I thought we would be walking out of there with oxygen, (2) I was afraid the oxygen company wouldn't take the order from me. On our way home (with the loaner tank from ER), I called the oxygen company, as recommended by Mary, to check on the status of the order. I called the two companies they recommended but neither one had anything on mom. Called Mary who said she wasn't aware that we had oxygen at home and that someone should've told her. I tried to explain that we only had a little left from a tank from years ago. She said something to the effect that we had oxygen and someone should've said something. Whatever. Called the oxygen company again maybe ten minutes later(?). The day was almost over and I was afraid to get home and have mom spend the night without oxygen. Oxygen company said they couldn't process the request with the documents the doctor's office sent over. It didn't have the doctor's signature and they forwarded the ER notes (apparently the order MUST come from the doctor, not ER). Didn't Mary know this? Called Mary again, and here's the fun part (yeah, right). During our conversation, she said that we had oxygen at home and that it is against the law not to tell the truth. What the heck? Did she just call me a liar? Okay, again I said we had some leftover in a canister from years before and the regulator was broken - I had told the ER staff this. She said the ER records say we had oxygen at home. Whatever, lady. I am telling you we won't have any oxygen before the night is over. She says whatever - I'll take care of it. She didn't. Long story short, I went to the oxygen company the next day and paid for a concentrator for a month. Fortunately, they allowed us to do this. The next day I spoke to Jessica who said the doctor said the antibiotics my mother was given will help with the breathing eventually and that he would test her on Monday (when we had a previously-made appointment). On Monday, mom was tested and didn't qualify for oxygen. It didn't matter that she was weak or still wasn't eating enough, or had difficulty breathing. She failed their test and was sent home. Her previous Doctor (Damon Lee) would've investigated further and made sure he found out what was causing the weakness. As a Primary Physician, isn't that your job? They dropped my parents that same week (sent a certified letter) because their insurance was taking too long to transfer. If you are still reading this, I hope you find a doctor and office staff who cares more about you than your insurance or who don't believe everyone is trying to cheat or lie. So utterly disappointed with Dr. Alocozy and Mary. I do not recommend you put the care of your family into their hands. If you love them and monitor their health like we do, Dr. Alocozy and Mary are just not good enough. read more

I called and tried to express that I was assigned with Dr. Alocozy, and that I no longer have Sutter Health insurance and need a medical release form signed for my Disability Insurance claim. I spoke with Jessica who tried to seek other solutions but ultimately had none, she stated I had to see the Dr. and that their office was closed and I would need to make an appointment to be seen and that I would be seen 04/19/2021. I wanted to clarify with her that I am not a new patient, I am no longer a patient at all. My needs are COVID based and the information I request does not require a face to face appointment, I asked if there were video appointments that can be done, she stated there was not. I then asked if the call can be escalated, she transfer me to Mary, who was immediately rude, stating "I don't get what you don't understand." I didn't even get a chance to say hello, she from the jump had an attitude with me. after reading previous reviews I see this doctor and medical staff no longer need to be in business. I have made several attempts to be see by this doctor and was always met with an outlandish ridiculous out of the way appointment. I am seeking legal action, and definitely complaints will be made with the Medical State Board. No one should be treated how I was today. So glad to be done with Sutter Health. I called Dr. Alocozys office and spoke to a receptionist to make an urgent appointment as my jaw was dislocated, I was given an appointment days out due to no availability. I informed the staff that I am in a lot of pain and if I am unable to wait that long I may just go to ER. Sadly that same night I ended up in ER and had to pay over $800 out of pocket. Instead of receiving a courtesy call from the office asking me if I was keeping my appointment they sent me a certified letter dismissing me from their practice due to no showing. I was so upset with having to drive over half an hour to pick up a certified letter and having to leave my job to do so just to find out I was dismissed for not being compliant. I tried calling the office but didn't get through so I came to the location to speak to the office manager "Mary," I believe is her name, she is Dr. Alocozys wife. As I started telling her how upset I was for getting dismissed for something her staff should of left a message for informing them that I may no show she tells me to "shut my mouth," She told me she doesn't know who I am and that I needed to leave. She didn't care to listen me out or to solve the problem. She also dismissed my father for not making a follow up appointment to follow up on his CT scan because he didn't have the time to do so. She also mentioned the fact that I was Russian and made me feel discriminated. She was Racist!. I walked into the office to give them advise to at least not certify those pointless letters to not waste patients time to which she said, "Get the F**k out of my office B**ch!" She said "If you don't get the F**k out I'll call 911!" I told her that she needs to "Get the F**k out as she is clearly in the wrong field!" She was cursing me out in front of patients in the lobby. She was showing her staff an example of how it is to treat a patient, when a patient should always be treated with respect and courtesy even if they are wrong! She was so rude, I felt bullied by her. No matter what website I looked at everyone has an issue with this monster of a woman! She thinks that she is right and everyone else is wrong. She is racist, rude, angry, bullying, and clearly in the wrong field, she needs to be as far away as possible from people and not working with them. Their staff is rude because she teaches them those examples. Their office is a hell to walk into, and you always feel put down. I am thankful that I am no longer a patient of a place that treats patients like shit and has racist comments towards them. That instead of listening to a patient the office manager cursed me out and kicked me out. That disrespectful crap needs to be let go or be told to work from home.
