I've actually been sitting here for a few minutes trying to find anything about this place that needed some constructive criticism but i'm not coming up with anything.
The space is intimate yet comfortable, the decoration minimal but perfectly executed, the service warm and helpful and .....the FOOD!!!! I'm still thinking about the food a week later. We tried many plates (with prices mainly between 3-7 euros depending on the tapa) and we loved everything. We tried the fresh figs with a baby eel cream on top (this sounded less than appetizing to me and i'm not the most daring of eaters but i did it and it was wonderful), a patata brava far superior to any i've ever tried (i think he said it had a quince aoili), a raw tuna tataki dish, beef tartare, cod brandade, a mind-blowing hamburger, pork fillets topped with roasted pear, a really unique and wonderful ceviche and a tongue dish served with a pigsfoot that i was too chicken too try but everyone else raved about.
Almost everything is locally sourced, all the wines are natural and pesticide and sulfite free, the beers on tap are local and delicious and even the soft drinks are natural and lovely.
I would say that you can eat heartily for 15-25 euros per person and it is SO WORTH IT. This is one of those meals i'll be dreaming about for a very long time. Well done, Almosta. I'm so glad to have found you. read more
