This was working for a couple of large organizations the were based in Washington DC area. That was some, what, 30 or 40 years ago and I think it world still work today in some terms, well any terms. I guess I could find coders and system builders here in Connecticut. I was still using the basics that I learned in the late 1990s and early 2000's. Hmm.. it would be something interesting to try again. I'd probably almost work myself to a breakdown again but the work was the most satisfying thing I did and I'm more that sure I could do it again with people who are of the same bent still. You'd need to have people who are of the same mindset to do it. Hmm. the complexity of the system would be up to the end users but it can still be done. Just make sure that the rules don't change as the project does. You need to have the right people. Explaining the ratings. back in the end of the 1980's we built these things on mainframes. That was the size of the resources you needed then. Now you can easily do all these things on a phone or pc .. jeszzzz.. just about anything. What can I say about Express Staffing Agency? Certainly nothing positive. Well, I retract that…read morestatement - I can say they are great salesmen and saleswomen to get you into the place. Now, past that - nothing positive. We run a landscaping company, and when I called up to inquire I was told they had "tons" of people. Made me feel comfortable enough to move forward. We moved forward and we ran interviews - they did the initial ones to get us "seasoned" candidates based on our wants/needs and then we interviewed to get a person we wanted for the full time position. We have 1 potentially 2 opening. The first person we interviewed was easily in his 60s - for a labor intensive job he walked 10 feet and was coughing. He also had no landscaping experience what so ever. The things my husband discussed with him the gentleman kept yes'ing him. The second and third candidate I looked at their resumes before hand and literally denied them before even meeting them. One was in construction and there was no mention of landscaping and the other I can't even remember. Neither were good for our company. I called up Express and I was told it was because of the "rate" we had set, they let weeks go by before letting me know this. That's wrong on their end. So we increased the rate, and I told them the "top" was for the person that "had it all" and wow'ed us. Well, they told everyone that rate. Waste. we got 3 more candidates. One "M" which was clearly their favorite because all I heard about was how wonderful he was. Then the other two. Neither had a drivers license. One was suspended and one never had one. We ended up moving forward with M - simply because we didn't have anything better to pick from. We also picked the gentleman with the suspended license "J", due to desperation. The first day of work came and "J" was a no show. Fantastic start. Totally destroyed our workday. For the rate that M was being paid it was grossly an overpayment. He moved extremely slow and what was said he could do, he clearly couldn't. When weeding he passed over smaller weeds. Etc. We then had our fair share of problems. They do NOT get quality people. One gentleman showed up with sweatpants, sneakers and a hoodie - looking like he was going to relax all day and not work. There isn't enough time to type out all the other issues, but hopefully you get the point. They messed us up because sadly we put ALL of our eggs in the Express Employment basket. We were behind on work, because of them. They took very little money off the bill - but frankly it should've been comped - we shouldn't have owed a penny. Their customer service is terrible. I believe they are a franchise and frankly shame on the franchise (payments get mailed to GA) for not looking into this location. Funny part of the whole thing is one of their guys was soliciting and he went to my father's place. My father not knowing who we had used, asked about landscaping and he was told that Express has an "ARMY" which is clearly not true since we couldn't get any quality guys or anyone else to interview for the positions. Instead they kept hanging on by a thread telling us a major landscaping company uses them, which is a flat out lie. Further on they said "they haven't gotten a call yet from them". Clearly that's what they use as a "reference" when trying to get landscaping companies. I am making sure EVERYONE knows about this company, they didn't do what they should've for me, the customer, so now I am making sure I exercise my rights and let others know exactly how this company is run. They tell you lies and buy time. THAT IS IT. If I could give this company zero stars I would.
