Let me premise this with the fact that I have one of the best oncology teams in the country. This includes the number 5 Melanoma specialist in the world. I fly across the country every month to see them at a prestigious medical institution. However, none of my specialists caught my back problem. We all figured the symptoms were from the surgeries I had. Dr. Pirouz, however didn't blink twice when I mentioned my symptoms (which weren't even in my back). He immediately ordered a MRI of my lumbar and scheduled me to be back in his office in two weeks. Needless to say, my MRI was abnormal. He has referred me out to a Neurosurgeon that has already called me back (same day!). I have been sick for a long time. Not to mention, I worked in health care for over 20 years. It's not my first rodeo when it comes to continuity of care. It seems that physicians are getting more and more subspecialized. I have about twenty different providers. Most of them tell me that something is not their territory and then refer me out. This becomes exhausting after awhile and therefore, nobody is treating the "whole self!" Many hospital systems have this as their mission statement; however it's just a line. I should know... I've worked for many great hospital systems and have lived through it first hand! I would recommend this physician, hands down. He's done his job with the utmost professionalism and found something my other physicians didn't.

They had agreed to the appointment and then 2 weeks later, the day before the appointment they canceled. We called to ask why and they were being very shady. Making excuses. It was almost as if they were scared of something. I've heard plenty of rumors that certain doctors talk to each other and I feel like this was one of those situations. I'm guessing Dr. Moelleken didn't want to "step on anybody's toes." Don't waste your time with them.
