I have been working with this office for several years. They always go above and beyond to help me and my family when acquiring new insurance, renewals and general questions. My previous auto insurance advisor was terrible, before becoming a client with Steven, him and his staff helped me review my policy to determine if it was the right fit for me. Not professional dishonest pushy, they signed me up telling me one price and then it was always a different price after that never was it the price that they promised. After a while I got tired of their dishonesty and I canceled with them, they kept hounding me saying they needed proofOf new insurance which I sent to them four or five different times but come to find out that it was just their way of going through the steps to annoy me because then they still sent me to collections just to give me a bigger headache and I didn't owe anything they just got mad that I canceled. The people who work for this company care more about their procedures and protocols than you. Expect a lot of scripted courtesy over the phone that deflects rather than serves you. I called my mother's "personal" Allstate agent Steve Schneider to make a full payment of her annual condo insurance premium with her credit card. He isn't there, but his Assistant processes the payment and cheerfully recommends I sign up for auto-payment in the future. Sure, let's do it, I tell the helpful young man. A month later, a notice comes warning of cancelation for non-payment. It's the weekend, so I get right on the phone with the main Allstate customer service number. A cheerful chick tells me not to worry about that notice, because the computer says we're all good. (Spoiler alert: we're not all good, and neither is Allstate.) A month later, another notice comes telling us our policy has been canceled and we have no coverage. I get right back on the phone and a third agent keeps telling me there's no record of payment, until I mention the auto payment plan, and then she suddenly notices an August 17th phone call request for auto-payment. But she explains that's pending because payment was never made. What? I called originally to make payment, and it's the cheerful kid who suggested auto-payment, and the cheerful chick said we were all good. Well, this will have to go to Review, she says, and she'll notate my account with my story. I ask her also to notate my dissatisfaction with the compound incompetence of the cheerful kid who didn't process the payment right and then the cheerful chick who didn't read the computer right. Okay, so now I'm still waiting for "Review" to review. I leave my mother's "personal" Allstate agent Steven Schneider a voicemail, which he doesn't return. So then I write him an email, which he doesn't answer. Meanwhile, my phone complaint had been "escalated" by the third agent to "Corporate" and some corporate lady leaves me a message to say that she was asked to call me, except she doesn't seem to know why. We trade voicemails until she finally reaches me, only to tell me she can't talk to me about the account without my mother's permission. Then why the hell did YOU call ME in the first place??? Didn't your computer tell you that when they let me pay for my mother's insurance, I the payer was the one who complained about the payment clusterfuk? And since all I want to do is complain to you and not get any information from you, why can't you just hear me out and record the complaint? SORRY, says she sympathetically, and hangs up. So, you wonder, why don't I just cancel this policy? Well, I sure as hell will, once Allstate "Review" reinstates it, so that their computer doesn't ruin my mother's credit by telling the rest of the world's computers that my mother's policy was canceled for non-payment. Don't let it happen to you. Just trying to pay your premium at Allstate may cost you months of aggravation. Allstate's people are more beholden to their computers and protocols than to their customers. Find yourself an independent insurance agent and find yourself an alternative. read more

Hi. I have been involved in a four year bad time with this guy. I retired and was moving to florida, and found a much cheaper rate for my auto insurance with GEICO. I told the agent, after giving them my policy# that I wished to cancel my policy with them. This occurred in September of 2015. They called, persistently offering me a better rate. I told them I was not interested, and had already obtained a new policy with Geico. They then began mailing me an unpaid invoice for October 2015, even after I told them I switched in september 2015. They then sent this matter to a collection agency,from which I still recieve harrasing calls, and letters after almost four years all for a bill which I am not responsible for. I second Plumi G's emotions. After more than 15 years as a customer, this Allstate office suddenly started sending our annual invoice for co-op apartment insurance to our mortgage bank which, of course, ignored it. Result was that the policy went into default and the bank threatened to do the same to our mortgage. We rushed to pay the premium, assuming we had misplaced the bill. Then this year we notice there is again no invoice. We try to reach Mr. Schneider to no avail. FInally we get a clerk on the phone who tells us that the bill was mistakenly sent to the bank. The clerk, offering no apology, offers to take the payment over the phone. We'd like a bill please, we told her. We try to reach Mr. Schneider again. Long silence. Finally someone else calls and offers to give us a quote on auto insurance. You got to be kidding. I dread if we ever have a claim. Really poor performance. read more
