While the pricing is great, I wanted to compare both the rate and the coverage. I emailed 5 different insurance companies and 4 of them immediately said "we'll get you the same policy for the same money" but only ONE came back to me and said you are not being covered properly and there's conflicting info in the underwriting language. That firm was none other than Coastal Insurance (see attached email). While their policy came back to be $200 more, but their policy also offers substantially more coverage. I would've rather pay the extra money than to leave myself exposed to a potential loss and claim denial b/c I didn't read the fine print. In a society where speed and cheap trumps service and common sense, it's refreshing to see a company that is thorough and didn't "sell me on price and price alone." Just an FYI, they also have an affiliate that provide tax grievance service and have saved me thousands of dollars with my commercial and residential properties.

I was recently faced with an issue pertaining to homeowners insurance. We have resided in our home for twenty years and have never had a need to file a claim. The insurance carrier did not want to renew my policy due to issues with my asphalt driveway and retaining wall. I received many quotes for the repairs which exceeded my current situations budget. So I began the search for other carriers. I reached out to several local agents. No takers until I contacted Mansa Nicome - State Farm Insurance Agent in Neptune, NJ. I spoke with Edgar Valera explained my situation. Made an appointment. Mr. Valera recommended an associate who could provide me a quote for the property repairs. The homeowner quote Mr. Valera provided for was on point. Driveway and retaining wall was addressed accordingly. My State Farm homeowner policy was issued. What a stress reliever! If it were not for Mr. Valera's efforts I would have defaulted to a Lender Place Policy that only covered structure. The policy I received from State Farm, outstanding and exceeded expectation. In addition, I had been with the same auto carrier for 14 years. Car paid off, its 12 yrs old good condition liability coverage only. Mr. Valera offered to review my auto insurance policy. He recommended several changes. I replaced my auto insurance carrier with a State Farm policy that included better lawsuit protection coverage plus umbrella at a monthly premium far less than the other carrier. Edgar asked what took you so long to seek us out. My response, I stick to the same things and am not one for shopping around. I am sharing this experience because of exceptional customer service received. Edgar's customer service skills exceeded expectation. Might I add he was courteous and knowledgeable in his presentation. If you or someone you know is in need of auto, homeowners, etc., I highly recommend Mansa Nicome - State Farm Insurance Agency. However, the past 2 years, come renewal, I wouldn't hear from them at all. Policy documents would show up randomly in my mailbox without notification from StreetSmart. This year, after I got policy renewal documents for both auto and home, one of their managers reached out to "chat with me" about my renewal "ahead of time", showing they had no idea that my policies renewed. I shared feedback with them last year that I felt it was unacceptable to be making commission on my policies every year without offering any service, like shopping rates with me every year or even reaching out to ensure my policy met my future needs since life can change quickly. They did not take this feedback, clearly. I tried to setup time to talk to my account manager to discuss renewal three times. Every meeting, no one would call and when I reached out over email, was told it was rescheduled/cancelled, despite using the scheduling link she told me to use... Still feeling this is unacceptable, so I chose to stop partnering with them and shop around to a new agent who has better customer service.
