a display of spices in a store
    Megan W.

Stumbled upon this shop in the East Village and I'm so glad I did! What a great selection of spices! Anything you could think of in various sizes and combinations. Look for spice combinations with suggested pairings or recipes. The back of the shop offers olive oils and flavored vinegars. The front also had a very interesting selection of maple syrups and I got myself a variety pack that I'm excited to try on some pancakes. The staff are friendly and so helpful. You can also shop online for spices if you can't make it to Des Moines to go in person. Higly recommend!

This is a terrific little store in the East Village! I'd been here one other time before this visit but it had been quite a while. I'm so glad I returned as I found some awesome little gifts for Christmas, among the other things I came in for. I browsed the aisles a few times to make sure I saw everything. I needed help and asked a young man for help. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and really a great ambassador for the store. I can't wait to have my hot chocolate and see what others think of their items. I rarely give 5 stars but this store actually deserves 6. It was packed full of friendly employees, respectful shoppers and a nice scent of different flavors. I enjoyed my 30 minute stay and got wished Merry Christmas before I left. When people tell you to shop locally, this is the place they had in mind!

If you are a foodie, do yourself a favor and make AllSpice a must for shopping. They offer an amazing selection of baking, cooking, and grilling spices, along with rubs for grilling. They also have an unbelievable selection of olive oils and vinegars for every taste. I especially appreciate the fact that I can buy spices in plastic bags at reasonable prices and it allows me to save on crazy packaging. The staff is incredible and you will feel very welcome.

This place needs to be your spice and baking needs designation! I love this place because the staff is extremely helpful and the selection is phenomenal. The Veg Out is my favorite variety pack with the amazing tangy herb and dill seasoning and the ammazza suocera that packs a punch in any meal. Their staff is lovely, the place smells great, and it makes for an awesome gift destination with their pre-packaged gift sets!

Great East Village find! I just wandered in one afternoon, drawn in by its nice scent. At first, I thought, "Oh cool, spices," but then I realized the value of this shop! They have a great variety of baking ingredients like cinnamon sticks and vanilla, cooking spices and herbs. They also have an area in the back where you can taste test flavored olive oil and vinegar. Spice Haul: House seasoning blend, Quebec Steak Seasoning, Curry powder (hot), Greek Seasoning blend, Italian Seasoning Blend. Their blends make me excited to get some cooking done! There were some other cool mixes that I didn't get like Truffle Parmesan, Island Jerk, and Rotisserie. This is a great place to check out if you like to cook and are bored of just plain salt and pepper.

    Great gifts!

I could do some damage shopping here as they have such brilliant spices, oils and gifts. Each time I go they seem to have something new but keep the cool brand esthetic that makes me feel at home. This is a wonderful place to shop and learn more about all the delightful food you consume. It is clean, affordable and offers excellent customer service. (Go!!!!!!!!)

Always smells fantastic when we walk through the door! Love to get our spices from here, as well as amazing flavored vinegars and oils! The staff is always willing to offer help for whatever it is you're looking for, and under normal conditions (non-COVID) they also have samples of their vinegars, oils, and sometimes treats up front with great recipes! A not miss when you need your next spices for anything! Also an excellent place to find gifts for the cook you know! Multiple sizes, grinds, and heat levels available! A quality spice makes any meal spectacular!

I was just walking around east village and stumbled into this place. I could smell the spices from the outside and saw lots of people there so I decided to stop in. This place is pretty awesome. They have every spice you can think of. Not only that but their selection of infused olive oil is huge. You can sample it also so that is very nice. They also have a huge selection of vinegar. I ended up buying the garlic infused olive oil. Will be having it with bread. Cool little place.

If you are familiar with the Des Moines metro the Graziano Bros name should be one you already know. Established in 1912 they are a fixture here when it comes to Italian sausage. The ordering process was smooth and the menu was displayed well. The wait wasn't long. I ordered the fried ravioli (beef filled) with marinara and an Italian Chop sandwich. The Italian Chop is almost exactly what it sounds like. It's served cold. Chopped mortadella, pepperoni, capicola, salami, provolone, tomato, onion, pepper rings, and lettuce. Tossed in a creamy Italian dressing. Served on a hoagie roll. The ravoli was served terrifyingly hot. Lol It's a bold tangy marinara. The sandwich is perfect for what it is. Service was excellent for a truck and typical of when there's a line. Busy. Not much time to small talk. If you love chocolate like I do, come to this store because they have a fine selection of European chocolates for great prices. Kinder bueno, anyone? If you haven't tried it, you're missing out, just saying. I would also recommend their tea selection, which is also extensive and cheap. They have everything you'd expect in a specialty grocery store, from spices to meats, from canned foods to sweets/snacks that you definitely wouldn't be able to find at any American grocery store. It truly is an excellent selection. Whether or not you are familiar with the foods, I highly recommend checking this place out. Seriously, the chocolate selection alone will knock your socks off.

First things first, let's talk food. After telling my mom I was heading her she asked me to grab her something to support the business. I got the buffalo mac and she get the red bean burger. The mac was amazing! It had a wonderful blend of texture and flavor. A kick (which I love) but it's wasn't overbearing. I've never even considered spinach in mac and cheese but loved it! I had one bite of my mom's burger and now am know exactly what I'm getting next time. It was...so good. It's been over 48hrs and I'm still thinking about it. Second, the service. They were so incredibly kind! The were happy, fun to have a little light chat with (even though I had never seen them before in my life). They were, finally, efficient! They were quite quick to get my order out even though I was not the only one out there to support them that day. They had a good amount of customers. I...can not WAIT to go back here!
