When in Rome, act like a Roman, right?…read more But once in awhile, it's kinda nice to have a quick taste of your "norm," even if it's just for a few minutes. Located on one of the busiest streets of Dagupan, Starbucks is a welcoming sight for sore eyes. After running a few errands around the area, it was a good stop to make for something cold and for a snack. Parking was a challenge. There are about 4 spaces up front that can be shared by patrons of all the other establishments in the area. We got lucky to score one of them. We walked in and I immediately liked the open and welcoming space. It was quite inviting. There wasn't a line, so we took our time putting in our orders. Now, I'll admit, a couple of us took a minute to make up our minds, but the cashiers were patient. They also suggested a couple of cakes and pastries. Now, I'm not a sweets person, and I usually just take a bite just to say I tried it, but gotta say the crepe cake was pretty damn good! Good enough for me to eat almost half of it! That, I would recommend. Free WiFi. Place is clean - clutter didn't last longer than a few seconds since someone was always around for immediate clean up. It's a good place to chill. Me likey.

First time here and it's not bad. It is a place for studying. It has desks, booths with bean bags…read moreand pillows and low tables as well as big tables for groups. I went here with friends and we got a booth upstairs. It wasn't too loud so I was able to get some studying done. I ordered an iced hazelnut latte and it was good! Maybe kind of pricey it was 160P. Didn't try the food but the cakes are 100 plus for a slice. Come here for the studying environment. It is very cute. I was here on a Friday night and it wasn't completely packed. Hopefully I can go here earlier in the day so I can really study all day here. It is open until 3am! My issue is that there is no wifi...only good thing is that less distractions but sometimes you just need some good wifi while studying. Excited to come back here and study even more :)

Cafe I'm Here has a really big space considering that it is a cafe. I find their coffee okay, not…read morebad but nothing out of the ordinary as well. But what I love about this cafe is their booths for seating. If you are fond of sitting in the floor or lying down, then this place is for you! It's a great place to hang out with your friends, chill and it is also a great place for study. They have ample electric outlets which make them also a great place to work or charge your gadgets. One downside is that they don't have wifi, which is one of the things I consider for a perfect hangout place. But if you do want to really talk and hangout with your friends, this will be a good place for you.

As we rambled down the streets of Baguio, one of the places that was highly recommended was Café by…read morethe Ruins. The eclectic menu was highly satisfying and we gorged on so many dishes. It is an iconic café, restaurant and bakery in Baguio that's long been beloved by both locals and visitors. The ambience has a rustic, artsy vibe and has played an important role in the city's cultural and culinary scene. It's called Café by the Ruins quite literally because it was built beside, and partly within, the ruins of a war-damaged building in downtown Baguio. After World War II, much of Baguio was destroyed during the battle to retake the city. This is why the café became a natural home for artists, writers, activists and thinkers, the space itself tells a story of survival and reinvention.

I thought that I wrote a review for this place years ago. I have been going here for about 30…read moreyears. It is an amazing restaurant with a historical location. All this time I thought the restaurant was located on Chuntug. During my younger days, Baguio was known for the clubs and casinos at a couple of the hotels. Things changed after a major earthquake, and I guess the name of the street for the Cafe By The Ruins also changed to Shuntug. I love all the architectural changes that the restaurant has made after the horrible fire they had. Of course the restaurant would have a wonderful ambiance, since the co-founders were artists and creative minded individuals. This is a location where memories are created with an unforgettable dining experience. They proudly served farm-to-table food before the social movement of using local ingredients in food preparation. In fact, the menu changes due to the seasonal fruits and vegetables. I encourage you to ask your server for their recommendations. They will know what's currently popular, and it is a great way to discover new items you might not have considered otherwise. I say that only because I would not have tried the duck pinikpikan, since I remembered how chicken pinikpikan was made. I'm glad we ordered it, because it was the perfect match with the rice that was served with it. The black ink pasta with fish rose cream sauce and crispy tapa are dishes that I'll be ordering again. I also asked what the server recommended for a dessert, and I'm hoping that they'll always have the strawberry pavlova on their menu. I also enjoyed Christine's Crepe. The Ice Ruins Coffee was a wonderful beverage with my desserts. This is a restaurant that I always go to whenever I go to Baguio.
