This is the B&B you have been looking for & dreaming of!
We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and helped to enter our rooms. We were personally escorted instead of pointed! Our hostess, Carol, was happy to provide some real milk for our morning tea. We were offered a Sherry or Whisky in the lounge to help us relax after our long day's walk and it felt like reentering civilization, or being welcomed into the home of a friend.
This beautiful Georgian home has been remodeled to house guests but the character has been preserved with great class and dignity. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Our room was spacious and the bathroom also roomy with very modern in appointments, tub and shower combination. This was probably the most comfortable bed of our two week trip. There was a tiny kitchenette counter so for a longer stay we could have self catered some lunch or light suppers. Breakfast was magnificent and Chris gave us local gourmet feasting with superb sausages and the best black pudding I ever ate. There was Glayva to put into our oatmeal porridge which was wonderful! Their packed lunches were the best we received while on St. Cuthbert's Way.
I could happily have stayed a week in the comfortable surroundings. It was off the main road enough to be very quiet. I give this my most hearty recommendations. Check their website for realistic photos. read more
