Clearly they do not care about there duty to the public much less the oath they took,because they violationed both. They quickly shoved us off to the McKinney PD though, were that officer flat out knew it was a felony. I have had several enteractions with the Parker PD due to my ex living there and not abiding by orders, and they could give a flip about anyone. The only thing that gets these guys off on is giving tickets!!

Ticket prices start high and charge over $200 even if ticket is dismissed. Have a payment plan option tells you that they're used to praying on the weak, but tack on $25 for that one. Drive a nice fleet of expensive SUVs. Give you a mere 10 days before your court deadline, that's one week and some change, not enough to tie up loose ends at work. Of course tack on a 2.5% convenience fee for using a credit card, everyone's doing it! Thinking about doing a driver safety course? Think again $145 at the lowest for state and municipal, TX dept. public safety and course fee. But don't blink because you only get those 10 days to notify the court of your choice.

However, I haven't been as involved in local government during my life, as I probably should have been. Do you know how and why your city government works the way it does? The reason I attended tonight's city council meeting was to monitor the activity surrounding a bond issuance approved by voters in 2016! Now, you would think if the bond was approved that long ago, those items would be complete or well on the way. Not! I think you will be surprised how these things work if you look into it. I encourage everyone to be more active locally. That's where the rubber meets the road and I personally think the local governmental activity is going to be more important going forward than ever. After a citizen blitz of support activity over the last few months, the council unanimously passed a resolution to issue the bonds from the 2016s election. This included money to expand the library, road improvements,acquisition of more park land and building of fire house #6. yea! Again, I'm very surprised how this worked. In addition, the mayor issued many proclamations including, welcoming other cultures to our area and urging citizen participation. Recognition of the 13th consecutive Allen High School wrestling team State Championship! How do you do that? One of the most significant and touching moments was the recognition of a 911 dispatcher who had previously been commendated for saving a life over the phone in 2018. Last night she was recognized for saving a life on her way home after her shift ended. Wow! Ovrall I was impressed with the performance of the Mayor and City Of Allen Elected Council,the full house attendance of Allen Citizens and the spriti of community present. If you havent been involved,observed or even know about your lovcal government,there is no time like the present to... Go!!!!

The old Allen public library is one of the places in Collin county you can vote. But only for early…read morevoting I think. On the actual voting day you may have to vote in your regular precinct. Collin county is using the new electronic voting machines. You still need to have a photo ID regardless of whether you have your voting card with you. The new voting machines allow you to do a "do over" if you don't like the way your initial picks print out. I'm told you get up to 3 re-do's. I did not test this option since I got it correct the first time through. No hanging chads on this peice of paper! After printing your ballot you walk over to a second machine for your actual choices to be counted. A locked safe connected to the machine stores the paper ballots, which can be used later for audits and recounts. Regardless of how you vote, please vote so you can be heard! The one thing I loved about the library is a cute gardening section right next to the staircase (as of 4/24/26). There's a lot of cute gardening books and even a seed donation box. It's a clean environment overall and lots of books. There are some open areas that can be quite chatty so I would recommend being in a study room if you need to study. The seats are comfy overall and provide a nice relaxing spot!

They have a variety of books, programming, and areas to relax and find a pocket of space. They also have computers, airy spaces, and clean facilities. The parking is ample. One thing to note is that on the way there, it can be hard to locate because a small road brings you to the library and there's quite a few trees around so it's nestled away from the highway.

STOP THE PRESS !!!!!!! because it's now been months at least 3 months and I'm still waiting for my DL I kept proof I submitted it and paid for it just in case I get stopped or God Forbid the worst happens but What the H - - I have not received my new DL yet so then I try to call the DMV to get it resolved and ask WHY???? "NIGHTMARE, !!!! Number 2 Impossible to do What I get is this stupid robotic recorder that you can't even communicate with to get you in touch with a "live" agent on the phone to attempt to ask them "WHY" after doing everything on line have they "NOT"sent my renewal to me Its been way to long.... Attended the Arts in Bloom festival in downtown McKinney and I was impressed!…read more Downtown McKinney reminds me of a, much smaller scaled of course, downtown Fort Worth so I felt right at home! Small local shops, tons of eateries and plenty of space to roam about. The festival layout was well thought out and extended down every main street. Loved supporting the local wineries and trying yummy wine. Definitely an area I'd return to for another festival, or lunch/dinner if I'm in the area.

I love Historic Downtown McKinney. We come often for food, bevvies, shopping, comedy/clubs, events,…read moreand holiday activities. They have done a superb job revitalizing especially post-COVID. They understand their identity and have poured into the locale with a solid unifying theme. My only complaint is the lack of planning in parking. With the increase in businesses and activities, they should have planned for more parking especially garages. Parking is a HUGE challenge almost Californian level. It always seems loud in here so I wouldn't advise trying to get anything done where you need it to be quiet. I like that they have a drive-up book return too -- very convenient. This library does not participate with the Libby app -- not at the time of this writing -- so if you reserve an ebook, you'll need to download the app they do work with. They FINALLY got more parking added here -- it's been so tough to find parking but there's a long new section of spaces now.
