I was referred to this clinic by my regular Dr for pain management due to an injury I suffered from…read moreat the end of 2020. My first visit to this clinic was in the middle of June 2022. It was very good. I saw a doctor who was covering for Dr. Munoz-Gonzalez because she was on vacation. The Dr. was very nice and very compassionate. Her first course of treatment was to offer methocarbamol, which is a muscle relaxer. To see if perhaps that will work. She then set me up an appointment for July 30, to start a series of Cortisone shots directly in the area that was giving me the most discomfort. I arrived at that appointment; this was my first interaction with Dr. Munoz-Gonzalez. She was abrasive right from the start, she lacked compassion, she was not friendly at all. She gave me the shots and dismissed me. I was scheduled for a follow up Thursday July 21; her demeanor was exactly the same as the first visit. She asked me how the shots worked for me. I said that they didn't work at all, I said that the methocarbamol gave me no relief either. So, she said that the pain was not in my muscles, it was probably in my joints. She stated that she received my paperwork from my surgeon in New York. We reviewed a couple things, I had to correct her and the name of the surgeon because she was identifying an incorrect surgeon, and she doesn't like to be corrected. She immediately became defensive. She then began offering to medication 's one called Gabapentin, which is for the treatment of nerve pain, one called Meloxicam which is to treat arthritis. She said the pain was from my joints. Neither of these medications she is prescribing are to treat joint pain, when I questioned that she became defensive again. And actually, started raising her voice at me. She then told me to stop adjusting my mask because the Covid risk is high because people are refusing to be vaccinated, and it should be mandatory for people to be vaccinated. Things like that should not be said, that is her opinion she should keep that to herself. We live in America, which is a free country. And I absolutely disagree with her opinion. I was adjusting my mask because it was hot in the office, and I had been sitting there in pain sitting uncomfortably for over an hour. (I am vaccinated by the way) My visit was Thursday at 12:45 PM. My pain level was at an 8 out of 10. The doctor was very well aware of it, she did not send my prescriptions to my pharmacy until Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. I had to call the office twice to remind her she didn't bother to send the meds until she felt like it. I waited for almost 2 days for her to send the prescriptions. I believe this is out of spite and I think it is incredibly unprofessional to treat a patient like this because she was challenging you and correcting you when you were saying incorrect information. She offered another procedure, to use an Xray and a needle to pinpoint an area to burn the nerves that may give me some relief for up to 2 years and then she got up and walked out of the room. So, I went up to the reception window and the lady sitting there handed me an appointment card with a month's follow up, never asking me if it was a good time for me, just to call the office if the date and time doesn't work. And a procedure appointment date for next week. I absolutely do not trust Dr. Munoz-Gonzalez to insert a needle in my spine so needless to say I will be cancelling that! I went to the pharmacy to pick up the medication and I spoke with the pharmacist, and he said the Meloxicam is absolutely the same thing as Ibuprofen 800, which I already have a prescription for, and she is aware of. So, there is no need to pick up the Meloxicam. I will not be returning to this doctor because she genuinely does not have my best interest at heart and did absolutely nothing to help me. Her Bio on the Google page for the National Spine & Pain Centers-Lumberton states "They should feel free to express their frustrations, their fears and their hopes with me. My goal is to provide the same care for each patient that I would desire for my own family". This is not how she made me feel and if she treats her family like this, I feel sorry for them.

If I could give it "0" stars, I would. I was sent by the VA for pain management on my back. On my…read morethird visit I was given an epidural to supposedly help lower back pain. I was told I would be great that day, I was not. I was told I would be even better the next day, which I wasn't. And I was told that within 5 days I would be awesome. I gave it until the 5th day but after the 5th day of still suffering worse then before the epidural, I realized that it was not going to get better & I called the office but there was not a nurse available to speak to me. I was told someone would return my call, they didn't. I called again the next day & got the same response. On the 8th day, I called my primary care physician which told me to go to urgent care. I ended up diagnosed with a "failed epidural", had to get IV Morphine & Steroids, MRI with & without contrast & then sent home on Steroids with increased pain meds & muscle relaxers. I then had to go back to my primary care physician the next week & was still in so much pain that I was offered pain injections. It has been almost 3 weeks now, I still have heard NOTHING from National Spine & Pain Center & am still struggling with pain. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone. The sad part is, I could have possible understood that the epidural didn't work but the complete disregard for the problems & pain that this caused me is totally unacceotabke!!!!!
