Accommodations vary, some quite appropriate, others basic. Outhouses substandard. Dinners generally good. Price reasonable. Proprietors a little rough around the edges, but again this is a hunting camp and I am a pre-political correctness type guy, so I can deal with it. No longer patronize the operation but if you would like to be in prime grouse habitat at a reasonable price, worth considering.

I spoke to the owner Karl about a year and a half ago about a bear hunting trip. After a very pleasant conversation,and him assuring me that I could get a refund on my deposit if I needed to cancel for any reason, and due to covid and everything going on, I gladly put down a $500 deposit on a trip up there. He sadly passed away, and I was still planning and excited about going up there. Then in June and July I was selected as a juror in a murder trial that was expected to take a few months to conclude. And towards the end of the trial my tonsils almost ruptured and needed my tonsils taken out immediately. I had all the paper work proving that I had jury duty and hospital forms. So I informed big booms about my situation and requested a refund, which they agreed to send me out a check. After a few months of waiting, they just stopped responding. Even had my bank look into it, and they lied to my bank and said THEY spoke to me when I called to make the reservation, and told me no refunds,and I received services. Please do your self a favor and look into more honest outfitters in Maine. It's a shame it has come to this. If anyone would like to see the messages I will gladly show them to whoever wants to see them.

We have been going here for 14 years. The fishing is outstanding (lake trout, brookies, blue back char, and salmon) the food and accommodations are great, but the most remarkable thing about Bradford Camps are Igor and Karen Sikorsky, the owners. They are outstanding hosts and treat the all of the guests like their favorite family members. The staff is super accommodating and helpful. There is no WiFi, no television, and no newspaper. The best place i have found anywhere to relax and just be. Magical sunsets are a bonus. Best way to get to camp is via Katahdin Air, a floatplane service from Millinocket or Bangor. Tell Jim Strang, the proprietor of Katahdin Air that you want the Walker discount. Warning: if you go to Bradford Camps, you will want to go back every year.

Accessible (safely) only by floatplane, the present and the past of this special place are unique. Accommodations, food, available activities, ambience, location, staff, all second to none in its kind. Oh, and kudos to Igor and Jimmie, the pilots; safer (and far more enjoyable) than driving on the interstate!
