We usually love this place! I have an elementary aged son who is very particular about his hair and…read morethis is his barber shop of choice for years. Today, we booked with Amaya Serrano and my husband must have entered the wrong appointment time because he ended up showing up 10 minutes late. Despite being confused and apologetic (he thought he was on time) Amaya was very rude and dismissive. She was visibly annoyed and insistent that only an abbreviated cut could be done due to timing. This was an otherwise empty shop at the time. I can understand time constraints, and even being turned away due to being late, but what I can't understand is the lack of kindness and lack of customer service in general. We will be spreading the word about Amaya at fine linez.

I was home visiting and badly needed a cut before vacation. I figured it had been 10 years surely things must've changed. I went in, showed how I wore my hair (plenty to brush back) and asked for just a trim with scissors and he agreed to keep it nice and full. After seeing all my hair falling down the drape I even thought "wow do I really have that much hair?" He spins me around and - the butchers strike again. He must've taken more than 2.5 inches off and gave me a high and tight buzz like I'm a sergeant in the military. My head looks like an egg. No more brushing my hair back since it's so short it can only stick straight up. Please learn from my mistakes and stop trusting these guys. (Unless you do buzz cuts then they're fine)

We were in town for a wedding, and my husband needed a haircut asap since it was a military wedding, he was a groomsman and had to stand up there in his uniform, and his hair was getting too long for uniform standards. We googled haircuts nearby and found this place about a mile from our hotel. The haircut was fine, but I don't really know much about cutting men's hair. He said it was good and the price was about average so that's that. However, I actually enjoyed sitting there for 10-15 min waiting for him, because the shop itself is like stepping back in time about 50 years. The barber chairs are old-fashioned and the shop decor is mostly civil rights era posters, autographed pictures, magazines etc. Everyone that walked in, both customers & employees, seemed to know each other and all greeted each other fondly, and got engaged in lively conversation all 'round. The gentleman cutting my husband's hair was very friendly and told us this is an 'old-school Christian barber shop.' No cussing allowed. If you happen to be in Reading and in need of a haircut, I recommend stopping in Danny Moore's.

I came in for a big chop with layers and Sadie took care of me and knew where to start. She was not only professional with her work, but so nice and charismatic too! My boyfriend came in for a men's cut as well (earlier in the week) which was a hard decision since he has straight thick, long hair and needed a tune up, but Alissa took his worries into consideration and gave him the first perfect cut he's had in a while! Overall recommend this darling salon for their quick service, hospitality, and customer care.
