All-Star Stables with instructor Rachelle has been the perfect place for my daughter to learn to ride. Rachelle really "reads" kids well and unlike many riding stables, can adjust her style to the student so that skills and confidence grow and one doesn't feel berated. Through my own riding experience i have learned that one really needs to shop for not only a solid skill set in teaching skills and expertise but also find and instructor personality fit for the student Rachelle is that right combination of these for my daughter who has blossomed in skills and confidence over the past year and a half. I have found the instructor and in some cases her working students to be very professional and generous in nature. If we talk about scheduling changes or needing to move a time she has always been helpful and will mention a few times that she thinks might work and then confirms what will work when she has access to her schedule. Understandably since she is generally teaching when people are trying to book times :) . What drew me initially to this place is the atmosphere there. It is not that its the fanciest place that I have been to, but instead that the horses and kids are noticeably relaxed and happy. Also responsibility and stewardship of the animals is part of the program so that students learn that horses are not just sports equipment, but instead are living creatures that must be cared for and treated well. Additionally, I find no drama here, which is incredibly refreshing key to the positive atmosphere at All Starr Stables. I came across All Starr Stables while looking for riding lessons for my 17 year old son. Call it luck, call it serendipity, or call it good - but I could not have found a better stable for my son to learn to ride. Having grown-up with horses and riding, I was most impressed with Rachelle's total immersion teaching style. Learning to ride isn't just getting out of your car and jumping on your pony. It is the complete package deal and Rachelle teaches, coaches, and enforces that. The skills that my son gained in a very short period of time allowed him to get the summer job of his dreams. I love taking my daughter here. I live in Issaquah so it's a little out of the way but completely worth it. Rachelle can be a bit strict, but I know she has my daughters welfare in mind. And honestly when working with horses I'd rather have a teacher be a bit strict than lazy. I enjoy all star stables because they don't just throw your child up on a horse and lead them around in a circle. We have learned how to properly care for a horse. Grooming, mucking the stall, feeding, how to desensitize, lunging, how to bridle. We know it all. I love every one who works here and their passion it shows in everything they do! Also she let's me take pictures with her chickens :) I wouldn't change anything about this place! I've been riding with All Starr Stables for over 4 years and I board my horse there and I absolutely love it. It's hard to find lessons for a 13 year old that doesn't cost a lot and it's even harder to find an affordable boarding plan but here's there no problem at all.I've learned everything I know about horses safety, grooming, horse mentality and of course how to ride properly. Not only is it a great learning space but it has a friendly welcome feel. You don't have to be right every time it's fine if you fall off or make a mistake it's all part of the learning and there will be no pressure added. Not knowing much about horses I almost took my daughter to a place that charged $60 a lesson then while at an ultrasound appointment my nurse told me about Starr Stables. She said they were affordable and a lot more interactive than the $60place. so I gave it a shot and I'm very glad I did my daughter has flourished with Starr Stables and it has taken her love for horses to a whole new level. I attempted to book riding lessons for our daughter. After the date and time was set, the instructor proceeded to double book us and not tell us. Then when we called to confirm, they offered no help, did nothing and acted like we did something wrong. Thank goodness we called before showing up! I highly recommend looking elsewhere for riding lessons. read more

Rachelle is a teacher at heart and it shows. Both the horses and the students truly seem to love and respect her. She has patience and a quiet manner but still enforces rules for the safety of everyone involved. Great place to ride and learn! read more
