We went on a Saturday (hours: 8 am-12 pm) and it was busy. I assume it would be less busy during the week. Most employees interacting with customers are wearing masks but not all of them. Great customer service in person and via email. They are quick to answer questions via email. Their website is easy to read, detailed, and up to date. We recommend this recycling center to others and would recycle here again!

Cary's recycling center will take nearly everything: cardboard, books, glass, plastic, tin, aluminum, pots, pans, even furniture and yard waste, but not plastic bags. There are a few restrictions though, so check the city's website to be sure. Offloading an old computer, or any other electronics, will cost you a few dollars, but otherwise, there is no fee. As I enter the gate, a friendly employee will stop and ask what I'm dropping off, then direct me to the appropriate bins. Sometimes, late in the afternoon, it's difficult to find a spot in any of the three or so containers for cardboard boxes, but at least I know there are others making use of this resource. It may sound odd for an outdoor recycling center, but this location is kept pretty clean by both the City and the residents who drop things off which makes it even easier to keep coming back.

I appreciate that I can park my car in one spot and then walk to the different sections to unload household waste, recyclables, cardboard etc. there is nothing that is not accepted here. I know there is debate out there over the impact recycling truly has on the environment, but all I know is that for a location that deals with garbage and recyclables, they really make it easy for the consumer to be able to put everything away in the correct spot.
