I am seeing 2 drs here 1 for my wrists and 1 for my ankle. My wrists I had carpal tunnel surgery on and it was seamless. Highly recommend Dr Hahn! Excellent bed side manner & office room style. My ankle Dr , is a whole other story. 1st he told me the swelling in my ankles is because I need a diuretic, that I'm retaining way too much water. I felt as if he wanted to tell I was fat but didn't. He told me to see my reg physician & sent me for an mri. My reg physician said no this is swelling do to injury in both ankles because the other is compensating for supporting the bad one. If you were retaining water it would be all over not just in your ankles. Back to see ankles Dr, tell him what she said, he disagrees then looks at the mri & says there is cartilage discernment, but nothing he could do would help the swelling because of the water retention. SMH. He gave me a shot in my ankle & said come back in a month 1/2 read more

I had Dr Runner perform a right total knee replacement in Dec 2025. I highly recommend him. He took the time to answer my questions and helped me understand my options. After the surgery, he and his team was responsive to my follow on needs and questions. To further drive home how pleased I was with him and the results, I went back and had him perform my left total knee replacement (Mar 2026). Same great results. read more

Dr. Robert Runner, at All Star Orthopaedics, was recommended to me by my physical therapist (PT). At the initial appointment, he reviewed the Xray and MRI that my primary ordered and talked to me about choices (e.g., surgery vs PT). Selecting PT, he then had his assistant measure me for a brace to wear when I exercised. She said she'd get it approval from my insurance company, order the brace, and that I should have it in about 2-3 work days. Dr. Runner's assistant called me two days later to tell me my insurance approved the brace and she had one in stock that she felt would work even though it was a little smaller. When we got there, she told me my knee measured a size 3, but felt a size 2 would work. Well, it didn't! So, she stuck a size 4 on me and it didn't work either. So, she said she'd order me one. I called and also stopped by the following week and still no brace. Ten days later, I left a message for Dr. Runner's assistant to let her know that my insurance provider was changing the first of the year, and if the brace wasn't in by then, the process would have to start over. The next day, I got a call from Dr. Runner's office saying my brace was in. When I got there, the assistant was on leave and she, apparently, was the only one who knew how to fit braces! Another person tried to jam it on my leg , ignoring the fact that I had a torn meniscus, and she admitted she had no idea how it was supposed to fit! Take it home and play with it is what she said. You can come back when the assistant is here if you want! At that time, she charged me about $45 for the brace and said my insurance was covering the rest. I threw the brace in the closet when I got home. Too frustrating. It just looked like the bunch of braces I already owned except this one had a dial on the side of it and it was longer. Then, I started getting bills from All Star Orthopaedics! The first one was only for $6.83 which seemed reasonable and I paid it. Then, a month later I got a bill for $130.20. I'm thinking why? I had already paid the copay and paid for the brace. What else could I be getting billed for? So, I pulled up my insurance online and looked at the billed and patient amounts. Dr. Runner's office billed my insurance $615 for the initial 15-minute specialist appointment. He did no xrays! He looked at the xray and MRI I provided! He never even touched my knee! And, then his assistant took a few measurements of my knee! Dr. Runner's office billed my insurance $185 for when the assistant told me to come try on the size 2 and 4 braces when she knew I needed a size 3. I had no scheduled appointment. She decided to try braces on me that she knew would not fit and then had the gall to bill my insurance and me for it! Dr. Runner's office billed my insurance $3,470 for the day I picked up the brace! I had no scheduled appointment - she just said drop by. For $3,470, the brace should have been made out of gold! And, then they charged me an additional $130.20 for it after they said the $45 was my deductible! Billing at Dr. Runner's office couldn't help me. He referred me to the main office. I tried to tell her my concerns and she said, well your insurance paid most of it - you should be happy! She said she'd I could leave a message for the office manager to call me. I left the message and it's been 8 days and no call! I called and left another message and again no returned call! I definitely don't recommend Dr. Runner or All Star Orthopaedics. The treatment I received from Dr. Runner's assistant was totally unacceptable. The fact that she was able to call me in and try braces on me when she knew they wouldn't fit (i.e., she was the supposed expert) and then bill me for the fiasco is unconscionable. And, not having anyone there to properly fit me for the brace when I picked it up was unacceptable. And, then to turn around and bill my insurance $3,470 and me an additional $130.20 for the fiasco is outrageous. Please note that they gave me 4 thin little Velcro strips, two for the top of the brace to tighten it as it didn't seem tight enough to me and two for the bottom, and apparently those paired trips were over $1,000 each according to my insurance company! They look like something I could have made myself! This firm definitely isn't professional and their pricing is highly suspect. read more

Arrived on 2/18/25 for a 3pm appointment that I scheduled by phone on the previous Thursday 2/13/25 and put it on my outlook calendar. Provided my health insurance and other information over the phone at that time. Arrived 30 minutes early on 2/18 and was repeatedly and rudely told "we have no record of you in our system" (despite a text message showing interaction with the establishment on 2/13/25 and record of a 24 minute phone call at 1:13pm of the office call at that time on my cell phone) and that the doctor was running 2 hour behind as though these circumstances were somehow my fault. Not only did they misspell my name 3 different times they eventually found me in the system but no record of an appointment. Absolutely incompetent front office staff with ZERO customer service or concern about new patients. The way I was treated was absolutely appalling. read more

I arrived for my 10:30 new patient / knee evaluation appointment at 10:20. I checked in, and sat with about 50 other people, and waited. At 11:20 I checked at the desk, as I had committed to other appointments that day. She said "There are 4 patients ahead of you, and it will be at least 30 minutes ". I told her I was unable to wait. She said " Do you want to reschedule?" I said "No". I am a retired dentist, and for 43 years, I understood the value of time....mine and my patients. The day in question, Dr. Runner did not have surgeries, but rather follow up, and new patient visits. He may be the greatest surgeon in the universe, but the time management of his practice is a direct reflection upon other skills.... as a caring, sensitive, empathic physician who respects people's time, and for that skill, he gets an "F". One can only make a first impression one time. read more

This place is an absolute logistical nightmare to deal with. Specific care issues aside - that is for another review - trying to get an answer or talk to a live person is virtually impossible. The only people that answer when you call are - wait for it - the billing folks. I have been trying to obtain my medical records from them and they literally have no idea who handles that for them. Years back when I had a total ankle replacement, this place was an absolute godsend. So when my son injured his knee, I thought that this would be the place to go.... Boy was I wrong! The front office operated as expected... there was a minor mixup about which physician my son would see, but I thought "This place is excellent!" So whomever the expert is, we will go with that. We were escorted into an exam room, and were seen quickly by Dr. --name omitted for legal reasons-- He made a cursory examination, ( rather rough on a sore knee after having been told what he was doing was painful...twice. ) and announced, he'll be fine with a little P.T. (Or something along those lines ) When asked, due to extenuating circumstances, about an MRI, he brushed it off... when pressed again, he responded with "O.K. Dr. Mom." In a condescending tone. And proceeded to explain that by "bothering" to try to schedule additional testing we would be taking up resources that could be used by "more needy patients" and that he would "...have to justify it to the insurance..." ( we have excellent insurance, and we're REQUESTING the imaging. ) I've never been as perturbed at a medical professional in my life! I cannot imagine EVER darkening the door of this office again, and HIGHLY recommend you save yourself the experience as well. read more

Made the appointment on Friday for Tuesday morning. They emailed me the paperwork which I filled out and had to them on Monday. Got to my appointment in the Southlake office and was told that I had cancelled my appointment through text. I told them I never received text and had email confirmation. They argued with me then told me maybe the doctor could work me in and I just left. Called the main office and the girl who answered argued with me that I had cancelled through text and when I asked to speak with office manager she ended up disconnecting me and then when I called back no answer. When I called again later and asked for office manager I left voicemail and got return call and she said they sent the text message to the wrong number. This company is totally unprofessional and if that's the type of people who they hire I certainly don't want one of their doctors working on me. read more

The other two visits i thought were with him but one (to explain my MRI results) were with the nurse and today a follow up the PA came in. I'm given o real hopeful answers. Steroid shots in my back weren't effective. All I do is go to phy therapy which I've seen no improvement with and take lots of Motrin! They have given my no hope at Dr Timons office for relief of the pain due to this pinched nerve and Ive been seeing them for months. I'm going elsewhere - I can't take the pain anymore and Dr Timon and his office doesn't seem to care about that! Geez - give my the surgery already!!don't go here! read more

The bill for my 12 year old son to have 3 PT sessions for a strained knee was $1300. I was given an estimate of $85 per visit and then was billed for the remaining balance months after the appointments. Office stall not helpful in explaining the gross cost difference. Basically paid $1300 for my son to ride a stationary bike and learn how to stretch. read more

Poorly-run and shady practices. First I was told I have the start of plantar fasciitis. Doctor recommended a topical cream and orthotics. I leave, 3 days later a box of the cream shows up at my door- with a bill. I told the company I never ordered them, and they finally said to just keep it and they'll cancel the bill. Same thing happened the following month! New pharmacy, different name, different billed amount, and none of the phone numbers worked. Next- orthotics. Enter Gabe/Gabriel... Seems I'm not the only one to complain about him. Recommended generic (not custom fit) orthotics. Says they usually don't bill insurance for them, but I called my insurance company who said they CAN bill, which Gabriel agreed to do. I kept asking about custom fit ones (I'm used to those from a podiatrist) and Gabe really kept pushing me on these, and to buy today. I did, he said he'd bill insurance. Well, I got a bill for them from All Star. Shocker. I disputed it, they told me 'we do not bill insurance for these'. I escalated. Finally got a call back and they said they simply don't bill insurance for them, and I owe the amount on the bill. Finally got it reversed after a lot of repeating my story... Lots of attitude from Rynae. She seemed pleased when I said I'd never come back to their office again. Back to the orthotics. They caused so much additional pain that I had to seek medical attention elsewhere. The office didn't seemed too concerned with that. I'd never recommend these guys to anyone. The surgery was a great success and I couldn't have been happier with the results. That is until now............... My insurance carrier was billed and I thought that was the last of it until now.......can you imagine the shock to open the mail and find 2 bills for $1.24 each 3 years later! Seriously, it's not the money ($2.48 that is probably less than they paid for postage) however any other facility would have written off the balance due to the lack of communication/billing from their accounting office. Are they in such a need of funds that they are going through old files to find any monies they can collect? No, there has never been any billing, statements nor correspondence stating that there was a balance on the account, never until now, again 3 years later. read more

My daughter had an appointment with Schott at 2:15. They got there early (arrived at 1:45 to make sure they could fill out the paperwork timely). After waiting 25 minutes past the appointment time they were finally taken to a room. An additional HOUR passed without a single person coming in to say a single word to them. I called the front desk and the girl who answered the phone stated that the doctor was "a little behind"...I mentioned that this was really unprofessional and she stated that she would tell the doctor. Finally, an hour and a half after their appointment, someone came to talk to them Dr took less than 15 minutes and said you're overweight - take ibuprofen. I had an appointment this morning and when I scheduled told the office it was related to a car accident. They asked if an attorney was involved or private insurance. I said no attorney. Private insurance. They said they could see me. When I showed up this morning they told me I had to private pay or could not be seen. They could see who scheduled me and understood what I was told. Horrible patient interactions! The fact that they will not work with health insurance if you have been involved in a car accident should be considered malpractice! Thieves! Cannot get a phone call back from the scheduler. My husband has been hurt since February and it is now the end of July. We have fought with Workers Comp over getting approval for surgery. Was referred by a primary physician to All Star Orthopaedics for a knee injury suffered by my husband. Surgery was being considered. Visited both the Irving and Southlake locations. Both offices were nice and clean, the office staff were pleasant, wait time was short, and Dr. Tsay was excellent. He was to the point, ordered additional tests, took time to listen to our concerns/questions and explained everything thoroughly. We found him to be very honest and trustworthy. Showed up 15 minutes late for my appointment and was refused to be seen. Was told sorry the doctor had a flight to catch. Was looking forward to getting relief from Dr. Timon for a neck injury. All though my appointment was cancelled I was left in the waiting room for 35 minutes while they sorted paperwork and insurance. Another patient had the same issue. Very disappointing! read more

I saw Dr Tsai several times over the years. He operated on my broken ankle when I had just moved to the area and didn't have insurance. He gave me a great price and let me pay it off over time. He did a perfect job! He has since operated on my knee. I will always go to him for ortho issues! read more

The lady at the front desk is rude in the Southlake office. She acts like an know it all, and actually doesn't know her job! I literally sit in the office for 1 1/2 hours, going back and foward with her about adjustments to my insurance. Long story short I was not seen after my insurance was verified. I was told the doctor was walking out the door. I ended up having to be seen at another office. This totally offset my entire day. I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed that day. She really treated me bad, and other people were around listening to her, and no one stepped in to defuse the situation read more

Bullet Points: -Terrible office management (mischedulings, miscommunications, rude staff, etc) -An extra $500 medical bill that I was told would not cost anything by multiple sources -Under 5 minutes with Dr. Timon on both visits Terrible service in multiple areas of service and after multiple visits. Both my visits Dr. Timon spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me examining me and asking me questions. I pay a $40 copay to spend under 5 minutes with a doctor that acts like he could care less about the amount of pain I have been in for years?!?!!! I just don't understand how this is acceptable medicine now? I had to be aggressive to get any questions answered and felt even then that I was annoying him. His PA was the only saving grace of the visit. She was very friendly. THEN...then they say they, just for fun, want to do a cheek swab to get lab tests done to see how I metabolize medicine. They recommend this on my very first visit, before they even know if I need any medication and before they have even diagnosed anything (I still don't even know what the point of the first visit was?!). I literally ask THREE different times to two different nurses if this will cost me anything and if they are positive this is covered under my insurance! They all say yes with certainty! I even offer to call my insurance first to confirm and they say it isn't necessary. I am young and on a tight budget, so I am very cautious with medical bills and coverage. Four months later, I have just received a $500 medical bill for the lab tests. I call the company that did the labs and they haven't called me back. I call Dr. Timon's office and the receptionist casually says "Oh, you just don't pay it!"...?!?!?! Then transfers me to their billing department to have that information confirmed, because I am nervous and skeptical. The lady who I speak to in the billing department is very rude and very short with me and literally says she has no idea and that all she can do is contact the company that did the labs...which I have already done. Why are your nurses and receptionists telling me I don't have to pay this, yet you are now telling me you don't and can't know and can't help...even when your receptionist just accidentally said "Yeah, we've recently dealt with this problem with other patients too, you just don't pay it."?!?! Also, in my second visit, they gave me the lab results for this stupid test that I didn't even need and said someone would come in (after my excruciatingly short visit with Dr. Timon) to go over them with me and explain what they even are (I didn't even KNOW what I was being lab tested for)....and no one came in. A nurse came to get me and send me to check out and I had to ask for a PA to come in and explain this (now) $500 lab test to me. The nurse even seemed annoyed that I was asking to speak to the PA. And when she did I realized it wasn't even relevant to my current visit or anything I would be doing with All Star Orthopedic. On top of all of this, they never sent in the request for the MRI I needed after my first visit so it took THREE months to get that scheduled. I realize that modern medicine demands a lot of doctors and that they are limited on time they can spend with a patient..but 5 minutes? And to have your billing and reception and nurses all giving different information and not doing their jobs?! I just don't understand!!! Very frustrated. If I have to pay this bill, I will have spent $580 for literally ZERO medical care (apparently I need a cortisone shot and physical therapy...two more separate appointments I have to make to finally get my neck treated). read more
